power supply

hi.
I need a regulator that its output is in a high security (lower noise and higher performance) . it's Peripheral components should be minimum . My considered voltages are "2.5 v , 3.3 v , 5 v , 12 v , 15 v " and the current are " 1 A , 2 A , 3 A" .

try 1117 it is for 2.5,3.3, 5 V but current ratings are 800mA.

Maybe an LM317 with external transistor will suffice. It has an adjustable output current in the range you want (maybe it can be selected with a rotary switch and a couple of resistors?) and with external transistor it can supply the current you want. Here is an example circuit with the external transistor. Please note that you cant use just any transistor, this transistor (LM195) has integrated overload protection. The other image i have attached shows a selector switch to select an output voltage. Combining these two circuits should yield a solution for your problem.

PS: I personally would not recommend a switching regulator since these generally have a higher output noise. Linear power supply's also have a higher reliability but with the latest development in switching power supply's this advantage is negligible.

It will really depend what input voltage you got and how much power you may consume in the conversion process.
From there you can identify the topology to use. i.e buck, boost, LDO, or combination.
Also are there any other supplies in the system that are creating noise you might have to consider. Sometimes a switching supply if properly synchronized may also have good noise performance.

my considered regulator will be used for micro controller , but micro should be switching the relay to controlling the Powerful Motors . The problem that is considered here is that reducing the noise . In addition , Accessories Parts for this regulator should be minimum . In the circuit Each VDD and VSS pin pair will have a 0.1 μF ceramic bypass capacitor placed as close to the pins as possible. but the power supply is very important . I want a regulator with stable output with the lowest possible noise . My main voltages are " 3.3 V , 5 V " and my main current is " 1.5 A " .

In addition in my circuit there is three power supply , one of them for micocontroller , on of them for relays and one of them for " lcd and other parts " .

Meanwhile I've seen some of the filters Known as EMI filters both are mutually trans and the capacitor but I do not know how to calculate the desired values . these filters Should be selected so that the desired frequency noise is eliminated .
