Peak detector

I want to measure the peak amplitude of the input sound signal from a MIC ( electret ). so i need a peak detector. I tried using OP-AMP741 and LM1458 but i am not getting the output. so plz help me to complete my test. plz provide me a circuit with possible values .

You tell me you have a schematic I' m presuming you know how to read a schematic with various symbols so ideally you would know what that schematic does Also There is an explanation actually telling you how that works


This really depends as to what you mean by real time and what you determine to be peak

Can you enhance your request with more explicit information

Do you mean peak as in clip indicator Do you mean peak as in level indicator with sample and hold What is the period

Should this be sampled at every us, pico second, nano second

Can you express your question in matematical terms with possible equations example A funtion of change in level in relation to change in time

Would you like us to sit the test or you exams for you

I don't want Clip Indicator . I am using a buzzer as the sound input to the MIC, so i want to measure its VARYING amplitude continuously.
