17″ ibm screen problem

Hi.. when i turn the device on,a vertical lines appear then desapear and the screen become blue.. any ideas about the defect in the circuit?

It would help if you can provide the exact model of the unit and other details like the last activity you had before the problem started and how long has this been going on. I would also highly recommend you to visit IBM's Website and see if you get some answers from there technical support team... sometimes you get to find similar cases that have been reported by other users already.

Thank u for replying me.. well just after usual use of this screen.. i will try to find the problem at ibm.. but i just ask about the type of the error..

Plasma , LCD or tube ?? Which one ?
Where’s your schematic ?

If its old cathode tube type it could be RGB output stage , no horizontal blanking pulse from the frames stage It could be caps around the frame stage , might be grid cathode short on the tube itself Could be any number of problems including fly back stage or even caps on the tube base but since we still don’t know if this is lcd neither have we a schematic I really am not to hopeful for you at this stage

We cant guess at this You do unfortunately have to have some information in order to resolve the problem like voltage measurements scoped waveforms etc etc

Miracles we can sometimes achieve the impossible unfortunately takes a little longer

Bad enough having to have rows over this with the manufacturer let alone have to try and solve the impossible with no information from people like yourself

This is the typical answer I get every day from at least one manufacturer when they are saying to everyone "Bussiness is bad There is no work "

Rubbish There is plenty of work

There is untold work

What is the problem ?? A bunch of manufacturers who's answer is typically as follows " see after this statement " , and when asked to please get the Director of the company to call me so that we can negotiate this problem what I then get is the following .... Ill pass on the message , The Director isnt always in every day They aslo say , "Oh no one wants to buy british " I wonder why " , Talk about hang yourselves in the process but its true

There shouldn’t be a resection at all This is all there own doing !!

Also if they were forthcomming with information instead of being so silly and stubborn Customer service would be better Engineers would be better Bussiness would be better and last but not least More companies would recommend you and youd begin to sole the employemt problem would you meaning less DHSS claimants

There you go that’s me !! I don’t believe in hiding the real truth they might do I don’t not when I see good long standing businesses collapsing because of this very silly public school boy attitude and refusal to listen or to co operate at times when its not needed or necessary !!

Down to earth and honest about some of this whether they like it or not
