my team and i are planning to make are thesis. and we need to prepare for different topics. one of the topic i think is on how you convert the rotation of the wheels of a bike into electricity. is it a good topic or not?

That subject is a good start but I think you could go a lot further. An intelligent energy recovery system that activates the bicycle wheel generator/battery only in response to the brakes being applied would be useful. And it can be proportional; the harder the brake is applied the greater the resistance applied by the generator/battery.

so if this will be applied, the electricity stored can be useful even after using the bicycle or only on the duration of the cycling?

You could base your topic on what your community (or the area where you reside) needs. I think renewable energy conversion is one hot topic nowadays.

that topic is needed in a community here in the Philippines. one of the source of transportation here is the "padyak drivers" (bicycle driver).. so we plan to do this as one of our thesis topic.
