How do I find the amperage coming out of a capacitor?

I was wondering how to find the amperage coming out of a. 24 farad 450 volt capacitor bank. I've looked around online and can't find a decent formula to go by. The reason I'm asking this is I need to find out what kind of wire gauge I need for a sudden complete discharge of the bank.

Primarily a capacitor is a charge storage device. The capacitor discharge is based on the voltage and the load impedance. The capacitor though discharges dv/dt at an exponential rate again based on the load.

Current then will vary as the capacitor discharges. In short finding the current draw based on a purely resistive load will be dV/dt/R or R*dv/dt.

For normal capacitors it is not advisable to discharge a capacitor quickly as it may not handle the massive surge in current.

Thank you for your reply. I have one more question. What it dv and dt? Also, the capacitors are nichicon capacitors supposedly built for rapid charge and discharge applications.

dv mean change in voltage, dt mean change in time.

There a many sites you can learn a bit electronic maths. Basically though your capacitor will not charge or discharge a single current.
