I have an old, handmade radio cabinet with a broken radio. It was kind of a piece of junk even in its day, so it's not worth fixing. The cabinet and speakers, however, are quite charming.
I have purchased a little modern amplifier through which I can run a modern 3.5mm cable, and that works, but I'd like to wire the original knobs to my new one.
The original radio and the new amplifier both have their knobs connected directly to a PCB. They have the same type of six pin potentiometer, but I have been unsuccessful at getting them to work together.
I attempted clipping wires across the configuration, but even running power through it doesn't seem to interrupt the existing flow through their own boards.
Is this something that's possible to do at all? Or should I just give up on the thought of wiring to these knobs?
