I am not an electrical engineer, so if this question is ridiculous, I apologize. Here it is: is it possible to permanently magnetize a metal wire/string? And if so, could you pass the wire through a coil to generate electricity proportional to the vibration of the magnetized wire? That's it. Thanks.
