I am being asked to perform the Static Heating portion of UL 486 on samples of 300MC cable and crimp lugs. I understand all that I need to do with the exception of one thing.
According to section 7.1.10 Test Assembly, I am supposed to use equalizers to connect my specimens to the bus work I will be using. This is in direct contradiction of section 9.3 Static-Heating Sequence which states in section 9.3.1.1 that "equalizers shall not be used".
From waht I can gather, these equlizers are how I ma to connect my cables to the bus. If I am not allowed to use equalizers, how am I to connect the cables to the bus? Have I missed the point somewhere?
Does anyone have any guidance on this?
Thank you.
