Biology Student Seeking Electrical Engineering Help

Hello,
I'm a PhD student in the biology department at Binghamton University, and I'm doing behavioral research on a few bird species. I am desperately looking for help building a birdsong playback systems which can be left at my research sites. The system needs to turn on and off at specific times of day and to reliably broadcast a mp3 track of repeated bird songs. I actually have schematics and plans that were developed by students at another university, but I have no experience building such systems. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, even if it's just pointing me in the right direction. Thanks.

I note from the Universities web site that there is an electrical and electronics engineering faculty. Why not talk to someone in that department to get some assistance, a masters ( PhD probably less likely, the project would be too small) student will often be doing some practical work, and are often looking for new projects.
If the schematics are only on paper, and not a computer file as well, you will need to use a PCB design package to re enter the schematic to be able to generate a pcb file suitable for production if the system uses any chips other than dual in line packages, which is likely,

Thanks for your comment. I have been down that road and was blown off by the engineering department. They said the project was "too complicated" for a student to finish in a semester, which I certainly don't buy. That's why I'm looking for help here.

OK, if they have looked at it, and feel there may be more work than a semester, then you need to provide more information. It would help if you posted the schematic, knowing what hardware is used would give forum members more idea of what you are facing.
Another issue is code, was any supplied with the material you have,
