I changed motorcycle 6 volt bulbs to LED's using resistors to handle 9 volts dc the problem I am facing is that they use the ac not dc off the magneto generator to power the bulbs and also to a rectifier then to the 6 volt battery should I put a diode ahead of the LED's to make a half wave or put a diode in reverse direction in parallel with the LED's? Another consideration is the bulbs draw more current then the LED's do and I do not know how much this will load the generator.
