I am trying to understand breaker logic for a feeder breaker to a 4160V switchgear. We currently have installed the E-Max CMD and Raw-1D trip circuit monitoring devices. We have one installed to monitor our trip coil and one installed to monitor our 86 lockout relay.
I am unsure of what the function for these monitors is. After some internet searching, I have only discovered that they are supposed to monitor the integrity of the trip coil. I would like some more detail about how the devices operate and what information they are capable of sending out. I would also appreciate some incite as to what the differences between monitoring the trip coil and the 86 lockout relay might be if there are any.
P.S. I'm not entirely sure that I put this question in the right category. If any of you have any suggestions on which category might help me get the best help, I am open to suggestions.
Thank you all.
Bailey
