Greetings, Let me start off by saying that I am not an Electrical Engineer! I am a licensed Master Electrician that is also a teacher at a technical high school . I am Looking for some advice or help on how to make a class project work. The project that we are working on is we are on is, we took a tread mill removed the motor and coupling it to a bicycle to make a peddle powered generator. I could go the easy route and just have it power a light bulb or fan so that we can see the Increasing voltage affect the out put. Now what I would like to accomplish is to build a set of 4 or 5 lamps and have them turn on in sequence one after another as the voltage increases. I'm thinking that the students can "race" and see who lights up the most bulbs like a carnival game.I am looking for ideas to accomplish this with minimal cost because I will have to pay for this out of pocket as this was not in my budget!
