Is there a difference between asking a questions and submitting a post? I want to post in the EPE Magazine section but I see no way to do it unless adding the tag here does it.
My post is about the EPE article on the Bangood oscilloscope kit. I tried to buy one but there are tons of warnings from the manufacturer JYE about fake copies of it. See https://jyetech.com/Products/LcdScope/e138.php and linked pages. Indeed the pics on Bangood are missing the product ID sticker that JYE says shows a genuine product. JYE say Bangood is not one of their recommended sellers and should be avoided so why is EPE/Silicon Chip doing articles about a fake product when the warnings go back to 2015? Can get it at half the genuine price that way and it may work well. But JYE claim not as well as it should.
At the very least the article should remove JYE's name as they aren’t the real manufacturer of the product reviewed, although their firmware is stolen and used. Afraid EPE owes an apology in the next issue if what I report here is true.
Aliexpress is where JYE sell the real one but neither the DSO 138 nor DSO 138 mini kits have a case available. They have other more expensive scopes that do. Maybe the fake case will fit the genuine DSO 138.
