Driving Real SiC MOSFET Gate: Is a Dedicated Driver Circuit Required?

Hello to all.
I simulated SiC Mosfet with simulators.
Now I wanted to ask something.
If I use a real and real Mosfet Sic,
do I have to use a driver or can I power the "gate" directly from an energy source?
Do I need a strong current for the gate or is a very small current sufficient?

I suggest you buy a SiC Mosfet and try with a 24V or 48V battery and a very robust load. Then try to polarize the "gate" with the voltage suggested by the datasheet. First start to supply this voltage on the "gate" directly from the generator, then try to insert a limiting resistor, gradually higher and higher.

Being a FET, they have similar characteristics to Si devices, there are claims that the latest generation SiC devices have lower gate capacitance for a similar specked Si part(in terms of there voltage, current, switching speeds, and power handling).
What is your application, I assume a high frequency inverter of some kind, if so, then you really have to consider using an appropriate driver.
When you simulated the part, did you have a very complete large signal model, if not, then don't expect the simulated result to look like the behaviour in the real world.
