Hi,
I’ve recently had an Ariston Genus One WiFi Combi Boiler installed and I’m having some issues when trying to use the heating.
When I turn the heating on using either the mobile app or the remote device, there seems to be a slight delay and then a very loud bang occurs. This happens around 7 out of 10 times when turning the heating on, and normally takes anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes for the bang to occur.
I’ve captured the issue on video (attached). When the bang happens, the boiler cover plate actually moves, which makes it look like some form of expansion or pressure event is occurring inside the boiler.
I’ve also noticed that when the bang occurs, a large amount of emissions are released from the flue outside, which appears to be steam.
Once the bang has occurred, the blue light turns off, then goes white, and the digital display shows “Automatic calibration active”, followed by “CH pump overrun”.
If anyone has any idea what could be causing this, it would be much appreciated. Should I still be using the boiler, and is this likely to be a plumbing/installation issue or an Ariston boiler issue?
Thanks
Matt
AI: Was the installation carried out by a certified professional, and has anyone (installer or Ariston support) inspected the boiler since you started experiencing this issue?
This was installed by a certified professional who has been out to inspect the boiler and has recommended I contact Ariston Support.
AI: Apart from the “Automatic calibration active” and “CH pump overrun” messages, have you noticed any other error codes or warning messages on the boiler’s display?
Not that I am aware of.
