    1. How do I disconnect the hard drive with the computer turned off from the power supply and motherboard and reconnect it in an hour or so, will everything remain what was on the disk or will it be automatically erased?
    2. What happens when I start my computer without a hard drive?

    Hello
1.Of course, everything will be left on the disk as long as the operating system is properly shut down :D
    2. when turning on the computer with the hard drive unplugged, a message will appear, probably about replacing the hard drive or something like that

    1. thanks for this link - I already know how to connect and if I read something else, it wrote something about connecting the master / slave what is it - it's related to the hard drive - I need to know something?
2.that after inserting the disk and starting the computer, I put the cd with windows, during the installation of windows, he will tell me to put the driver floppy from the sata disk (which I got with the motherboard), then when I install windows, I have to insert the cd with drivers from motherboard, graphics card etc. so good everything? Anything else I need to know?

Ad. 1. Master / Slave only applies to ATA (PATA) disks. It does not matter with SATA, as there is only one drive per cable.

Ad. 2. Right after launching the installer (if the CD-ROM is set first in the boot order in the BIOS) a message should appear at the bottom - press F6 to install other SATA drivers. You only have a few seconds to press. An additional thing that will meet you during the installation will be formatting the disk. If there were no partitions on the disk, create a 20GB disk when asked (by default C :, the rest can be done in Windows). You also have a choice of FAT32 or NTFS. FAT32 is faster, but you cannot create partitions larger than 32GB. NTFS, on the other hand, is more secure, but will not be seen under Win98. But here the choice is yours ;)

Fat 32 and NTSC are the partition formats:
    Fat32 - Windows 98
    NTSC - Windows XP
So format NTFS partitions in the installer, and as for these drivers, it is obvious that all drivers are installed after Windows installation.

Apart from the SATA drivers, which must be installed at the very beginning of the installer work.

Topic summary

Disconnecting a hard drive from a computer does not erase the data as long as the operating system is properly shut down. When starting the computer without a hard drive, a message will typically prompt the user to insert a boot disk. For connecting a SATA hard drive, such as the WD 800 JD, to an ASUS A7V600-X motherboard, users should refer to the motherboard manual for guidance. SATA drives do not require master/slave configuration, as each drive connects independently. During Windows installation, users must press F6 to install SATA drivers and choose between FAT32 and NTFS file systems, with NTFS being recommended for Windows XP installations. Drivers for the motherboard and graphics card should be installed after the operating system is set up.
