I know how to do this. I do not remember exactly so I will have to check the manual for the car because it is described. From what I remember, you need to insert the key into the driver's door lock. When closing the key, hold it in the closed position and press the closing button. If I was wrong, let me know. I will read the manual and write back

    Hello
if I could ask, can you send specific coding instructions for the remote control of the pocket knife to the control unit? manual or with a vaga?

    Hello
I promised to write exactly so please. Sorry I didn't reply for so long.

Audi a3 key coding a quote from the user manual:

If the car cannot be opened or closed with the buttons on the key after replacing the battery using the radio remote control (key), synchronize the device. Synchronization occurs automatically if the car is opened or locked with the door lock after receiving a radio signal. The device is then ready for operation again. End of quote.

    In short:
Press the closing or opening button on the key and after that, within no more than 1 minute, we lock or unlock the car with the key in the door on the driver's side. After that, the buttons on the key should work

    greetings
Let me know if I helped someone.

This information helped me a lot.
After replacing the battery, the remote control decoded for me and I was about to let the specialist earn PLN 50 for coding, but I thought that I would read on the net and maybe I'll do something myself.
Well, it worked, it only took 5 seconds and everything is fine. Thanks for your help.

I have a similar problem, today I changed the batteries in the remote controls. The problem is that I have a broken insert in the lock from the driver and not at all from the passenger. I tried from the trunk but linden. Is there any other way?

Audi A3 1.8 (1999) Key Programming: 2-Button Pocket Knife Key Battery Replacement
The problem occurs when you wait too long with the battery removed, the capacitor is discharged, you can charge it inductively in the ignition switch.

In the Audi A3, for example, 98r. in the case of a damaged lock insert, the signal can be given manually.
To do this, unscrew the 3 screws securing the bonnet opening lever and fold back the plastic cover of the driver's door pillar.
In the brown cube, the two upper wires are the ground control for the lock. It is enough to press a button on the remote control and enter the mass on one of the wires (e.g. through a bulb tester).

    Hello,

I have a problem with the Audi a3 8p 2004 car. After the holidays, when I came back, it turned out that the battery was discharged. The first thing I did was replace the batteries in the remote control - it did not help, then I managed to open the hood and connect another battery - it did not help. The key in the door does not open the car (possibly a damaged lock). My hood is open, the battery is full, and I cannot open the door. The handle on the inside is "soft" and does not open the door, the buttons to open the door from the inside are inactive. The key probably decoded by replacing the battery. Is there a way to code the key or open the car in a different way? Please, give me a suggestion and help.

Buddy, drive to someone that would program the remote control via obd2, if you have active, you will open the door and repair the lock or cylinder

I have a similar problem, only that it is A3 8L from 2000 (three-door) and the door handles do not have inserts, the central one does not respond to the remote control and the door is opened with a key (pocket knife with two buttons -) through the boot door insert, I will add, that the diode in the key reacts. How to program it in this case?

Hello, to program the remote you must have two keys, if you do not have one key to the ignition and disassemble the driver's door (but you probably have to disassemble the door anyway because the cylinder does not work) unscrew the lock and close it with a screwdriver and open it, if not the towers how to synchronize the remote then after Christmas you I will send a description of greetings

OK thank you. I will wait for a description after Christmas, because I don't really understand how to do it.
    Happy Holidays and best regards

    Hello.
I have a similar problem, after replacing the battery (Audi A3 from 2008), I can open and close the car, but I cannot start the car, the word SAFE appears on the display and when it starts up for the first time, it goes out after a while. In the manual, I read that you need to insert the key from the driver's side, close the car with the door closing or opening button pressed, but it does not help, the word SAFE is still there.
    Anyone have any idea ???
    greetings

You have not lost the transponder from the key?

after opening the flap, I only have a socket for the battery, the rest are screwed together and built-in, what does the transponder look like and what can be done if it wasn't?
Theoretically, it should not fall out, because the remote control was not unscrewed, only the battery was replaced

maybe there is an option to synchronize the second key (the first one works without a problem) or coding, e.g. inserting into the ignition and some combination of opening / closing buttons?
