Hello, I have an unusual problem - I can't move the footnote line in ms word. By default, the left margin was set to 2.5 cm, after changing it to 3.5 cm, a line from the footnote was left with an indent of 2.5 cm. The question is - is it possible to move the line up to 3.5 cm in some way? greetings

Maybe play with the ruler, for me, the bottom footnote moves along with the margin. And you moved with a ruler or "Page settings" because maybe you moved only the indent in the ruler.

This is my first forum reply (not electrodes - at all!). I am writing a paper and I also had the same problem. Anyway, I can see on the net that many people have come across it. After arduous trials, I found out what it was all about. I have footnote text as inline style for "Footnote text". I don't know if it matters, but I don't think so. This line (its position in relation to the left margin) depends on the "Normal" style setting. If you modify it (paragraph settings) - indenting and indenting the first line to "0" (zero), the line will move to the left margin. I hope I helped someone, albeit a little late. Greetings.

See this way, maybe you will succeed.
Choose: View-> Normal, then: View-> Footnotes
From the drop-down list at the bottom, select: "Footnotes separator".
Then just remove the tab stop in front of the line, and you're done.
    It helped me :-)

From what I already figured out, this is what it looks like in Word 2003.
And how is Word 2007? - the help file is of little use. :(
    greetings

Okay, I've already figured this out :)
The procedure in Word 2007 is similar to the previous version.
In the View menu, we choose Draft, and then in the References menu, we choose Show Footnotes.
The rest is the same as in Word 2003.
    greetings

You guys are brilliant! Already while writing my bachelor's degree, I was getting fucked up when suddenly the office added one blank line under the footnote separator and each time I had to create a new file, paste into it with all my work and then it was okay after a lot of corrections. This time (I am writing a master's thesis) I decided to find a solution for it, and it is. Thanks a lot!

Thanks! It is exactly as described. He also put this damn sign of transition to me. Great description - I managed to set everything up as it should be.
