I am ashamed to admit it, but well ... returning home today I ran out of gas, so I called my friend, my friend came and I went with the bubble to the stations.

As I was in a rush, by accident, instead of refueling with gasoline, I poured diesel.
After pouring it into the tank, the firing attempt gave nothing. I "shook" it for a while longer and gave it up. That's when I thought that I might have made a mistake and went back to the station to make sure and it was indeed: /

The car got home and now the question is, could it be bad for the engine? When I poured the tank it was completely empty and then I didn't even start it so maybe it won't be that bad ??
Unlucky car is the Opel Astra F 1.6 16V (X16XEL)

    Regards

pour everything out - even from the fuel filter. Fill the diesel fuel and bleed the installation (pour crude oil fully into the fuel filter). There should not be any problems.
Pour a lot of oil - if there is a residual gasoline, it will mix in a small proportion.

Buddy, this is an asterka with a gasoline engine !!!!
    And to the author:
Pour it out of the tank, replace the filters and off you go, you haven't damaged anything, you're lucky you didn't fill the diesel with petrol, then there are costs, and nothing happened to you.
You can even be tempted to pour full petrol plus 0.5 denatured alcohol, it will also go, without draining, but I recommend replacing the filter.

It's scary to comment. First of all, nothing terrible happened except to admire absent-mindedness or ignorance. But you might have a problem. Namely, only stupidity can I call the stubborn ride to the last drop. You've probably pulled out all the dirt from the tank that got stuck in the pump, filter and maybe the injectors. After cleaning the fuel system, it is basically enough to top up the gasoline and drive forward (if, for example, the fuel pump is still alive). And for the sake of formalities, you probably filled up with diesel, not diesel?

A colleague of Mczapski is right, fill the gasoline up and go.

And if you want to empty everything from the tank, it is best to disconnect the fuel filter (the rear wheel wheel) and power the fuel pump. + 12V on the fuse, second from the left, supply or play with the key (after turning on the key, the pump is powered for a few seconds).

do not overdo it, pouring diesel into a gasoline engine is nothing terrible, vice versa, yes. Fill up with gasoline, remove all spark plugs, and crank the starter a little to blow pus out of the hoses. Then screw in the candles, light up and enjoy the ride.

This fuel from the tank is taken from the surface or from the bottom :?: These legends about sucking all the dirt from the tank make me laugh as the fuel is constantly mixed while driving, and the pump takes the fuel right at the bottom. :D
I suggest, like my colleagues above: drain diesel fuel, pour gasoline, drive a few kilometers and replace the fuel filter.
