Hi, I have a problem with the amplifier COUGAR 2000W 4 channel amplifier I bought it abroad beautifully played in a Honda Civic car until I connected the tube and burned the speaker and with it amplifier namely burnt parts IRFZ 44N such symbols were given to the site they made works but when I connect it in a car is a game but only with the engine turned off when the car ignites, the same parts are burning and the track was checking the current in the car and there is a good second amplifier playing and this one is burning what can it be?

Apparently a slightly higher voltage from the alternator will damage the transistors in the converter. It looks like it has not been repaired on the website until the end. There is still something damaged in it.
Amplifier damages during heavy use or even without music after starting the engine burns transistors?

So what can it be? I just want to buy these parts and do it, maybe you'll help me, I gave him 80 euros and he was on the site for 120 zlotys repair - I want to do it myself

Start by answering my question. It will tell me whether this is the effect of security measures or the inverter's fault. As for the latter, write immediately on what layout it is built. Tl494 or maybe SG3525, or something similar?

The amplifier plays beautifully after connecting the front speakers and tubes cleanly and reliably for an hour I was listening and nothing was even warm enough to ignite the car and go smoke from it burn parts and path when the burned path will not be soldered this amplifier plays but the power amplifiers quietly do not burn only inverter in the inverter are 4 IRFZ44N transistors and one D5KC20R another I can not read but these are diodes

How are you guided mass? With a car body or a separate battery wire?
I see (although poorly on bad photos - use macro because they are very blurry), that the transducer made as in Magnat or transistors without good protections (it will not choke just blow up transistors).

I have a car body and as I said I smoke only after the car is started, what can it be?

check the installation voltage in the car before ignition and after

    I'll refresh a bit.
For me, the same happens in Blaupunkcie MPA500, on IRFZ46N.
The amplifier was just bought, I changed for another one and it was OK until I started the car, it burnt them out.
I exchanged for a new one (checked on the off engine played zaje ... did not heat up) after firing the same story.
The charging voltage is 14V, normally 12.6V

First of all, we always connect such amplifiers to the battery of any car body. Conduits with a thick cross-section. Secondly, after repairing, give 14.5vi voltage on such a check these amplifiers if it's ok to the car.

    with a thick section ..

OK, but the first one worked (works well) well (also Blaupunkt).
The wine must be somewhere on the inverter side (maybe control) because the power terminals do not smoke.

The wine can also lie on the side of the amplifier that has poor power filtration or not at all. This results in the effect of controlling the gates with an interfering signal and the inverter controller does not affect the operation of the keys. After all, I'm just going because I do not have this amplifier in front of my eyes.

I overclocked the amplifier, the cause of burning transistors on the ignited motor, there were damaged resistors, instead of 100 they had 30ohm.
    After exchanging everything OK.

What is this new theory? Why, then, buying a complete set of car audio we have a short mass.
  • Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a COUGAR 2000W 4-channel amplifier that experiences repeated damage to its IRFZ44N transistors when the car engine is started. Users suggest that the issue may stem from higher voltage output from the car's alternator, which could be damaging the amplifier's components. The amplifier functions correctly with the engine off but fails when the engine is running, leading to burnt transistors and damaged circuitry. Recommendations include checking the installation voltage before and after ignition, ensuring proper grounding, and verifying the amplifier's inverter design. Some users share similar experiences with other amplifiers, indicating a potential common issue with voltage regulation and component protection in car audio systems.
