    Hello
I would like to know if AutoCad 2002 can calculate the area of some geometric figure with irregular shapes. I have to calculate the surface area of a very complicated plane figure. Manually on paper, I would have to divide it into squares, triangles, rectangles, etc., calculate the area of each of them separately, and then add them up. I'd rather put it into AutoCad. Question: is it possible to calculate such an area using this program, and how is it done?
    Thanks for your reply. Regards.

You have a "Query" bar in the toolbar (if you don't have it, turn it on). There you can calculate the area, and even the volume of solids, mass, etc. ... combine.

you can also enter the command "field" and select all points, or mark the figure as an object and give the object's area. Take a look at the help. Of course, as you have drawn to scale.

Thanks for the answer :) I didn't actually have this active bar :) I even have a book, but there I searched under the term "area and not area :) Now it's child's play :) thanks
