    I also have a car with EG. Fiat punto 2 2000 1.9JTD. and I am also wondering whether or not to plug the valve. It is known how diesel likes to smoke sometimes and this soot gets into the manifold. Surely this soot is not healthy for the engine.

    I have an omege 2.0 dti 101KM and in my case it is not possible to blindness because the computer is about to enter safe mode and crashes the error 0400 but there is an option in the settings that I reduce the opening of the EGR but only to -20% max. This setting means that the car is much better to collect, there is no turbo lag, you can practically feel the power from 1000 rpm

    Hello, I have been driving a Mondeo 1.8TD from 1996 for 6 years. It was muddy and sometimes it drowned heavily, after blinding the EGR, the car gained power and does not smoke like it used to - well, unless you hit the floor, like every diesel has to spit it out somewhere. :wink:
    I think that in older cars, EGR only hurts.

    EGR is replaced or repaired in diesels and not blind.

    Firstly, on a cold engine, the intake air is heated quickly with exhaust gases, secondly, exhaust gases are not corrosive to the eyes and nose, and thirdly, the engine heats up faster.

    Blind the EGR and you will see the cold engine limping right after firing in the winter.

    (up to 2 speakers) In winter, when the engine (depending on which one) is very cold (usually below -15), the EGR is closed so that the fuel burns in the best possible conditions, which are difficult anyway, and opens later as it warms up. It causes faster heating in medium temperature ranges, but it is not conducive to ECONOMY because it limits the amount of oxygen in the chamber. Someone will ask what the difference, it is diesel and we always have excess air, even how EGR works - yes, but when we have a lot of inert filler and oxygen mixed between it, combustion can (and usually does) drag on too much.

Basically, it is about lowering this temperature not to protect the engine but the environment (NOx compounds precipitate at high temperatures) and only because - when we limit the oxygen, the efficiency suffers, as I mentioned earlier. On the other hand, the closed EGR valve is all exhaust gas directed into the exhaust and through the turbine by the way, it causes higher revolutions of the turbine already at idle speed and when driving at partial loads, it gives a clear increase in dynamics (faster pressure increase) and response to gas due to increased MAF but of course, the maximum power has absolutely no influence because the EGR at such moments closes if it works properly.

    Lack of EGR work means the lack of soot in the manifold, which binds so beautifully with the oil and creates a clogging "korzuszek".
