Fuel for the army is stored in large-size tanks for a maximum of 5 years, but the agitators must be turned on from time to time. If the fuel is not mixed, bacterial colonies form, something like a terribly smelly gel that clogs the fuel system in the vehicle already at the dragon stage.

You probably mean diesel, not crude oil, so correct the subject.
In the past, the colloquial name of diesel fuel was crude oil. ;) And everyone knew what was going on. There was still gasoline: blue, green and yellow. ;) And so you could hear: "I took the crude oil full and a blue canister", translation for the youth: "I filled up fully diesel and 20 liters of gasoline (78 octane lead) into the car canister." :)

A lot depends on what the fuel at the station was "baptized" with :D
I remember the times when you could put yourself on a mine, especially on further journeys and refueling at unknown stations. I had gas stations in the area and ones that I avoided after gaining experience.
I have driven many tens of thousands of km on LPG, but only once did I have a situation with "baptized" LPG. Until today, I do not know what they added, but when I was returning from Zielona Góra, after refueling, it barely started and drove hard. It is full of hills and I was really afraid that I would not come to one of the next ones. I refueled at every station on the way to dilute this "cuś", even a few liters. With each refueling, the situation improved.

Topic summary

The discussion centers on the durability of diesel fuel (ON) and its storage lifespan, particularly in relation to common rail (CR) diesel engines. It is generally agreed that diesel fuel can be stored for about 6 months without significant quality loss, as per EN 590 standards. After this period, chemical reactions may occur, leading to the formation of sediments and the growth of bacteria, which can clog injectors and fuel lines. Water contamination is a concern, even in closed tanks, and can lead to injector issues. Some participants noted that diesel without biocomponents may last up to 5 years if stored properly. The conversation also touches on military fuel storage practices, which involve regular testing and mixing to prevent bacterial growth. Overall, while some users report using older fuel without issues, the consensus is that fresh fuel is preferable for optimal engine performance.
