Hello, my problem is that I bought a new computer, the trouble began at the very beginning when trying to connect the monitor (iiyama Pro Lite E2207WSV) it turned out that I had the wrong adapter. Specifically, this monitor has room for a VGA cable that I previously connected to the DVI-i adapter and then to the computer. Well, in my new equipment (i.e. computer) there is only DVI-d or HDMI input. Is it possible to connect this monitor to a computer? If this is how should I do it? Maybe there is a VGA to DVI-d adapter or such a cable? Please help, I would avoid buying a new monitor, especially since this one is not bad at all. I will only add that the graphics card I have is Geforce GTX 1060 6GB.

Welcome. DVI-D differs from DVI-I by the lack of an analog signal. So you can't connect directly. You can try the HDMI to DSUB converter, to buy at auctions for PLN 20. It will work or not (on some configurations it works well, on some it is hard to guess, but PLN 20 can be risked).

If the converter does not work, then replacing the monitor (or graphics card with an older generation, but it is unlikely to pay).

    Looking for something like this:

Search at auctions as HDMI DSUB converter or HDMI VGA converter .

I found something like this on the media markt page: https://mediamarkt.pl/rtv-i-telewizory/adapte...IsAMYuvBF6Zw-ttpLCQHoqew_AcZZEC_ECZZEC_ECZZEC
But I met with opinions that the adapter from VGA to DVI-d does not exist and if it exists it has no right to act, what do you think about the product from the link? Media Markt is probably not the first bribe from the market.

The media grommet won't work, it won't even go into the DVI-D connector. All in all, you already have one such DVI-I adapter ;)

After a closer look at the MM vias, boost of brightness and contrast, 4 needles can be seen around the flat pin in the DVI connector. DVI-D has no place for these pins.

The fact was not visible. Do you think that in an average computer store I will pay for such a converter? I found the computer at less than PLN 30, according to customer reviews it fulfills its role.

No, it only looks similar at most. If it works with DVI-D then it must have electronics converting the digital signal to analog.

If the auctions are half price including shipping, you will overpay, but as they are not massive money, you can try. Provide a link to this device from your computer, you can assess whether it is suitable.

I went to a computer store today and bought such a converter from HDMI to VGA and the monitor behaves as if it was not connected, the message no signal is displayed, what to do? I connected it as follows:
HDMI output in the computer - converter from HDMI to VGA - VGA cable - VGA input in the monitor. Oh, I forgot to add that the seller in the store thinks that there is a DVI-d to VGA adapter so much that it is just out of stock and can guess.

Dvi-d does not support analog ... You need to buy a DAC and connect through it.

But what exactly should I look for? I am not familiar with these matters and there are so many opinions on various forums that I was stupid and I do not know how to end my problem. I don't have funds for a new monitor. Alternatively, I can try to connect my computer to a Samsung TV via a standard HDMI cable, will it work?
