Hello. I have a Citroen C5 2.2 HDI 2004. after the lift and the SERVICE light is on from time to time and the error "Particle filter additive level too low". What does it mean ? Is it serious ? I would like to add that the car jerks strangely when you add gas at the revs of about 2-3 thousand. Go to the computer do you know what it is? Road repair? Please help.

You need to refill Eolys (I think that's what the name is called).

It is also the fluid in the diesel particulate filter.

I understand it's some kind of fluid right? But where does it complement and how much does it cost? After refilling, the error will disappear and everything will be ok? And this is just one type of fluid anyway?

    Added after 9 [minutes]:

What can happen if this liquid is not added?

Go to the mechanic, you won't be able to do it yourself, after topping up you need to make adaptations. And if you do not fill it, in short, the car will turn out.

But why will it happen? After all, it is probably only for exhaust gas cleaning, right?

Except that the car does not have any emergency mode and the turbo works normally and turns to the end of the revolutions, but when I drive around 2,000 rpm and adds gas, the car is teleported and at this point it is as if power is lacking. Cramps, from what I can see, this is an exchange of PLN 700 about: / I will add that the error does not burn all the time ... while driving, it will light up for a moment together with the SERVICE light but after a while it goes out and the SERVICE light too, it's also strange a bit. And you can't just cut this filter somehow together with the catalyst? Will it also need to be changed in the controller so that it no longer gives any liquid to the fuel?

You have the engine, you pour oil into it, you have FAP, you pour the catalyst into it. This is how it works, you won't go for free.

Mariopi, so far FAP without a cerium catalyst has not worked well. The problem is fuel getting into the oil during unsuccessful attempts to burn out the filter in unfavorable conditions, e.g. city driving. FAPs from ceremonies are much more resistant to such "attractions" because there the temperatures necessary to ignite the soot are much lower (this is what the complexion is for). We will see how the new constructions will perform

... you can also dump FAP (mechanically and programmatically) or look for a cheaper alternative to fill with eloys than ASO. But of course computer interference will be necessary.

ok, i understand. So it will not do without programming this driver. I hope that my friend will be able to do it because his computer is not the best one.

The reset of the amount of the add-on goes only to Lexia, so only the interface "compatible with the original" is considered

    Hello
What if there is no connection to the "additive" module? The module itself is in the tank ??
In the diagram, the regeneration additive pump is connected directly to the controller:

Citroen C5 - "Particle filter additive level too low" - co to jest ?

Why can't I connect to the module ?? There are no errors in the engine control unit. And the display shows "additive level too low".

In addition, a colleague in the future in the PSA group with wet FAP, you must not refuel the car for the proverbial PLN 50 because each opening of the fuel filler activates the application of the additive to the tank, the amount provided for the full fuel tank, so if you open the tank often, the concentration of this fluid can damage FAPA as well as and its lack. So we refuel the car under the cork, go to the reserve and refuel under the cork again.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Citroen C5 2.2 HDI (2004) displaying a "Particle filter additive level too low" error, which indicates a need to refill the Eolys additive used in the diesel particulate filter (FAP). Users emphasize that the additive is crucial for the proper functioning of the FAP, and failure to refill it can lead to significant engine issues, including loss of power and potential engine failure. It is noted that after refilling, the system requires adaptation via a diagnostic tool, such as Lexia, to reset the additive level. Some users suggest alternatives like mechanical removal of the FAP, but this also necessitates programming adjustments. The conversation highlights the importance of maintaining the additive level to prevent clogging and ensure optimal vehicle performance.
