Hello. I have a problem with my prendrive. Every time I put it in, it constantly cries out for formatting. I checked on other computers and the same on each of them. I don't want to format it as I have important files there that I don't have anywhere else. My question is: How do I fix this so that it doesn't show up again and doesn't lose data? And what could it be caused by? The file system is RAW.

I have the same with mine. Windows wants to see devices in its own way, and my key is that I can boot the computer from it and it's done on the linux base (grub and GPT), so windows thinks that if there is no MBR, then you need to format.

The fact that windows wants it that way does not bother me, so I learned to just ignore it. Mac OS does not have this problem.

If you really want to, then put everything you have on the key on the hard drive and then format it, then put everything back on the key and it should be ok.

    Greetings.

Maybe it's my fault, because I didn't write it, but I can't open it at all, because it keeps asking for the format. If you could tell how I can flip this data to disk, I would be grateful.

Another theory came to my mind, namely to format and then use a program to restore data from a partition. I have EASUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro 5.5.1. Would that have the desired effect?

There is a bootable CD called Hirens Boot CD.

There are a lot of different data recovery programs, but the two that come to my mind that you may need are "Recuva" and "Partition Find and Mount"

With these two, you should be able to recover most, if not all, of your data.

    Greetings.

    PS. Don't Format ... Not Yet ..

    Yeah.

Partedmagic download. Boot from this liveCD and copy files from pena. Linux sometimes sees partitions that windows cannot see.

Both programs cannot detect the USB flash drive.

    Hello.
I had this with the hard drive and I can tell you honestly that you will not do anything about it. Unfortunately, you have to format the USB flash drive otherwise it will show up all the time.

    @sajmosia
Hirens boot CD is for hard drives, not flash drives.

If I format, how do I uncover all the data? Are the programs given earlier enough for me?

 Abarai Maybe from now on, forget about the previous hints and enter the information obtained from:
    ! CheckUDisk 5.3
    2. ChipGenius
Also present the log as an attachment from the program RMPrepUSB (choose USB Info and then just OK).

Do you want to recover data from the pen, and you do not specify the manufacturer, model and size in GB?

The pen drive is from school and all it says is "Human Capital" and the like. From what I found out, this is a card reader. There is a 2GB MicroSD card inside. I have to remember not to write important data on such things: /.

Make a copy of this card from the very beginning, e.g. with USB Image Tool !
I do not know if this 1GB limit is enough for you to recover data, but it is worth trying if the files can be recovered and can be viewed after recovery - apply EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free Edition .

Thanks for your help. I followed Pidar's advice and backed up, formatted and recovered the files. It is true that some of them, but the most important are. As for the cause, I suppose it was a virus. After recovery, ESET detected a Trojan. And if he uses a previously made copy, the problem comes back.
PS. Forgive me for the delay in thanking you ;) but I had little time and will ;) .

    Hello.

I will refresh the topic so as not to create a new one. I have a pendrive that got hooked and mechanically damaged when it was inserted into the front socket of the PC case and now, after inserting it into the socket, it calls for formatting. The damage consisted in bending a thin aluminum housing, but after getting inside, it turned out that all the electronics are actually a compact laminate itself, which is hard to mechanically damage. After inspection, no damage is visible. I would like to try to recover important data from it. I haven't formatted it yet. All recovery programs do not show files. TestDisk shows no lost partition for recovery. Interestingly, the programs show only 8MB of capacity. I am asking for advice on what to do with it.

I have also suffered from this problem not exactly the same, I tried to solve this problem many times but didn't get any solution. I have also tried data recovery software like BLR Tools, Recovrit, Disk Drill not going to lie but they did help me. First, I tried Disk Drill as I found many recommendations but not quite satisfied with it as the other tool only recovered my 60 to 75% data. At last, I gave a try to BLR Pen Drive data recovery Software to recover my whole data. I wasn't sure that it was going to work but I gave it a try because I read a post somewhere where they say they provide a free trial so I thought I should give it a try and yes, it works. That tool recovered my whole data. I don't know much about it, but you can give them a try.
