Actually, the question is as in the subject, I mean typical wires used in car installations in various color combinations (insulation, strip), but for meters, not kilometers. Is anyone selling it?

By the metre, 7-wire multicolour, for trailer socket connections. There are different diameters of wires! There are no stripes and dots there.

I buy whole bundles at the scrapyard for pennies, I recommend it. You can call it recycling.

This problem bothers me too. Wires bought in ordinary electrical stores or supermarkets, usually after a year or two of use, are "black" inside. Connection places with connectors break, crack. I usually use wires ripped from old bundles, but sometimes the time spent on recovering a dozen or even several dozen wires of the right length is not worth it.

I used to have a representative from the BERNER company, I asked him about colored cables and it turned out that they have quite a large range of colors in the catalog. I personally haven't taken it, but you can easily order it. Their catalog is available here: Berner . Below is a screenshot of the cables available from them (source: berner catalog).

By meters it's probably only allegro, etc. Search for LGYs or FLRY. In wholesalers it is usually min. order from 100m.

I'm reviving this thread so as not to start a new one. Where are the Lgy-s or FLRY cables available in at least 8 colors? And at a reasonable price? I am interested in spools of 100m.

That's all I know, that's why I wrote at a reasonable price. For 1 mm2 it costs 0.91 PLN/m at TME, and 0.45 PLN/m at my warehouse, but they only have 5 colors. And it would be useful, as I wrote, at least 8 colors or more.

Not only these wires, because even in cars several years old this problem occurs.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around sourcing colored cables for car installations, specifically in shorter lengths (meters rather than kilometers). Participants mention various options, including purchasing from scrapyards, online retailers, and wholesalers. Some suggest looking for specific types like LGY and FLRY cables, with recommendations for suppliers such as TME and Berner, which offer a range of colors. Concerns are raised about the quality of wires from general electrical stores, which may degrade over time. The need for at least eight colors in reasonable lengths is emphasized, with some users sharing links to potential suppliers.
