Hello, I have a problem with the HC 8Gb Kingston micro sd memory card, namely today I wanted to copy data to the card. So I took the GPS (I'm using it as a card reader instead), put the card in, put the cable in, and plugged everything into the usb. However, something must have happened as I immediately heard the connecting and disconnecting sounds alternately. So I turned off the GPS, took out the cable and the memory card and repeated everything again, but unfortunately after connecting and clicking on "removable disk", the message "insert the disk into the disk drive" appears. He simply cannot see the card on the phone. So I can't format the card because no device can see it. Is there any way to make the card work again?

    Probably not.
I've had the same situation several times.
Unfortunately, I threw my cards away.
Nothing could be done about it.

Hello, the card (Kingston 1 GB micro SD) that was in the phone (Samsung 7220) suddenly stopped working. Every now and then I was downloading photos from my phone (when the card was full) and everything was fine so far. This morning I was sending 1 photo via bluetooth and everything worked fine.
Around noon, I wanted to copy the photos from the phone's memory to those on the card and dump everything on the computer.
The phone didn't show me my card.
Thought I was going to restart my phone. After rebooting, continue to do the same.
I pulled out the card and put it back in. The phone displayed the message: "The card is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?". I chose no.
I took the card out of the phone and inserted it into: another phone (Android 2.3.5), a tablet (Android 4.0.1), a laptop (Windows 7) and a desktop computer (Windows XP).
    Neither device responded.
I thought that if I format the card in my phone and the computer sees it, it will be possible to recover photos. The phone, when trying to format, only displayed a telling message "Error" and that's it.
The computer does not see the card, I cannot recover the photos that were on the card ... And there were quite a lot of them. Can something be done about it? Is it like in the case of a colleague who founded the topic?

Sometimes I think that while we can see photos of our ancestors, we will not be able to see them, because the word backup is still black magic ;)

Quatz, you have a microSD card. Do you put it into the SD grommet or directly microSD to the GPS? Sometimes the guides break down and you have to try on others :)

You have 99% of krisumaru no chance of recovering your data.

    Hello,

I have a similar problem with the microSD card. Neither phones nor laptops with the use of an adapter can see it. Is there any way to get to this card? Force its detection or something similar to format it?

Yes, reading directly from memory modules.

Yes, reading directly from memory modules.

So I understand that the only option is to use your / maintenance services? There is no chance that I can handle it myself having a basic knowledge of computers?

I have not written anywhere that you must use my services ;)

MicroSD cards belong to the group of so-called monoliths (monolithic memories). In such a card, a controller and a memory module are integrated in the laminate. In the event of a controller failure, it is impossible (as is the case with most flash drives) to desolder the bones and read them on the reader. You probably have a controller failure and there is no communication with the card and memory. Therefore, it remains to read directly from the memory.

These types of faults are very complex, not every data recovery company does them (rarely actually ...). Call different, ask etc.
    We undertake such recoveries.

Fortunately, I did not have data there, for the recovery of which I will pay about PLN 800. I will release the card for complaint and I will probably get a new one. Thanks for the detailed information.

Please help, is there anything else you can do?

From the beginning - I put the micro SD card into the adapter and to the computer to copy photos, I copied a few, everything was opened and I left the computer for 3 minutes and during this time my 2-year-old son "specifically" took up the computer, because there is nothing on the card .

The situation is that when I want to run the card on the computer, a message pops up that I need to format it, I did not format it. After entering the property, I have 0 bytes space taken free space 0 bytes capacity 0 bytes, what is it ??? when I put the card into the phone, I have a message that the card is empty or has an unsupported system and there is also a formatting message, but when I start the camera on the phone it is a message: to use the camera you need to insert a micro SD card, i.e. it does not read it, something else can be done to do?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with a Kingston 8GB microSD card that is not recognized by various devices, including computers and phones. Users report similar experiences where their microSD cards suddenly become unresponsive, displaying messages indicating the need for formatting or showing zero bytes of data. Suggestions include checking the card's connection, using different devices or adapters, and the possibility of controller failure in the card, which complicates data recovery. Some users express frustration over the inability to recover data themselves and consider professional data recovery services, while others opt to replace the card under warranty.
