Choosing Durable Screwdriver Set within PLN 70 Budget: Flat, Crosspieces, Bits, Torxes

Jaki trwały zestaw wkrętaków z płaskimi i krzyżakowymi, ewentualnie z bitami i torxami, kupić do 70 zł?

So either you buy some amateurish or you add and buy something decent. I praise the small equipment (screwdrivers, pliers ...) from NEO. There are of course better and more expensive companies.

Depends on what you will do. I, personally, have yet to come across unbreakable screwdrivers.

So what if they will be unbreakable, since they are to be lost / stolen all the time? Anyway, PLN 70 for a specific universal and good set is not enough.

You will wear out any tool sooner or later. The question of its working load. If you intend to tinker with something from time to time, it can be tools from Lidl or other Castorama, I have them at home and doing the work from time to time is enough.
But if you are going to use them a lot, maybe something from Coval, for example: http://www.coval.com.pl/oferta_srubokrety_wkretaki.php
I have the keys of this company and a few more gadgets in the company and it is nice to work with them.

For such games, it is ONLY locksmith's screwdrivers that allow you to hit with a hammer and put on a key as a lever. Here, the products of our native Forge are the most suitable for me.

Ew impact screwdrivers. If you have good beats, there is practically nothing that cannot be undone.

A screwdriver is not a screwdriver or any other small tool. It's a vise.

    Do you want to drive?
Look for BERNER working with these wrenches at work and I will say impressive
    Neo is also worth recommending

After all, these are NORMAL screwdrivers! Only decent. Hence their price.
Just as Santa Claus does not exist (I hope I have not shocked you now and disrupted your perception of the world), the same is NOT cheap and good. You want tools that will last you longer - you have to pay for them. If you have decent tools, you will have additional motivation to take care of them. For example, I NEVER borrow my tools. Because no.

I also do not borrow, whether it is a car or a whip, the one who lends sick, and there is always one that will be borrowed, who will see a specific set of keys that shines in the eyes like gold.

I will say that what I gave is an obvious exaggeration, I am looking for and I think that the bits are the best because they take up a lot less space, but these are Cossack

The former are cool because there are a few unusual attachments. You can buy the rest in any hypermarket.

And I've only been buying JONNESWAY tools for a while. Their quality supposedly depends on the source / store. In my city there is one point where they have a large selection of these tools and I am very pleased. Opinions differ, recently in another store a guy explained to me that Jonnesway are weak tools, that Yato is much better, but let's say I have my opinion on this. Generally, I was not disappointed (so far) and I think that the tools of this company are recommendable and the price is not too big.

malboro51 all what you showed is typical market crap.

I had such sets, the bits are so plastic that they last for several dozen screws, then they do not keep the dimensions.

I have not seen such in the supermarket, and on the Allegro there is not a lot of choice as to companies, it will not unscrew such seized screws, it is not a car mechanic that you need the most specific keys that cannot be torn off, if you found a specific one, please provide the link I will be happy to see

Gentlemen, if you are looking for "indestructible" tools, I suggest Facom

I have been working with these tools for years and there have been no problems.

A sales representative visits me at work and has a whole catalog of sockets and various specifics for art really worth recommending
You can make pieces or whole sets whatever you like
The former rattle really couldn't break until finally someone 'took care of' her
    You can hammer bits seriously

The best screwdrivers are screwdrivers from the following companies:
    PB Swiss
    Witte
    Wera
    Felo
They are made in Germany or like PB Swiss in Switzerland. The highest quality of workmanship, but the price deters a bit.

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

Facom, on the other hand, are Chinese-made screwdrivers probably produced in the same factory as Stanley Fat Max, but only the name remained from the former French company.

I recommend Wera, there is a lot of it on the Allegro, as long as the price does not scare you, of course.

    I have such a set
Link 189 PLN. Watch out for this bit holder (handle) in the kit, it's lame (bits fall inside under pressure).
Better to buy it right away
such Link or such Link 42-55 PLN.
The price for the set is PLN 240 (in this company there are often discounts after registration for PLN 20 or some percentage).

In general, once the whole of the above set of 9 bits + telescopic handle in a nice case cost PLN 320, also the price for the euti shocked and I let it go.
Currently, such a set is available for purchase Link , but one extra bit is unnecessary for me, or at least I have one more handle (poor but still useful).
Generally a set for precision works, a typical stand with tiny crosses and flat and TORX. I have been using the kit every day for several months and I would not trade for anything else. I will buy additional bits soon. I warn you that the price of one bit (two tips) ranges from PLN 20-32 and depends only on the store.

The only caveat to the yellow ESD handle, it is terrifyingly prone to grabbing dirt; need to be washed frequently.

Information for the pedantic - the telescopic handle has minimal side play.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around selecting a durable screwdriver set within a budget of PLN 70, focusing on flat, crosspieces, bits, and torxes. Users express skepticism about low-cost options from stores like Lidl, citing past experiences with poor-quality tools. Recommendations include brands like NEO, Coval, Wera, and Wiha, with some users advocating for investing in higher-quality tools for longevity. Specific models mentioned include impact and extreme screwdriver sets from Coval, as well as precision screwdrivers from Wera. The consensus suggests that while budget options may suffice for occasional use, serious DIY enthusiasts should consider investing in more reliable brands to avoid frequent replacements.

FAQ

TL;DR: 41 % of stripped screws come from using the wrong tip size [FastenerTech, 2022]; “cheap and good do not coexist” [Elektroda, Błażej, post #11219501] Add ~PLN 50 to the PLN 70 cap for chrome-vanadium drivers hardened to 54-58 HRC and at least one impact tool. Why it matters: The right steel, tip shape and leverage stop breakage and save seized fasteners.

Quick Facts

• Chrome-vanadium blades: typical hardness 54-58 HRC, resist 160 N·m torsion [Wera Catalog]. • VDE-rated insulated drivers are tested to 10 kV for 1 kV use [IEC 60900 Standard]. • Entry hobby sets cost PLN 40-70 for 6-8 pieces [Elektroda, Anonymous, post #11198708] • Mid-tier pro sets (Wera, Bahco) start at PLN 120-180 for 6 pieces [Allegro Price Track, 2024]. • Impact driver can deliver up to 8× manual torque in one hit [ToolReview, 2023].

1. Is PLN 70 enough for a durable flat-plus-Philips set?

Not really. Users and pros agree that PLN 70 buys only “amateurish” quality [Elektroda, robokop, post #11198757] Hardened chrome-vanadium kits with full-length blades and hex bolsters cost about PLN 120. Spending an extra PLN 50 triples tip life versus soft carbon-steel sets [ToolReview, 2023].

2. Which brands deliver long life without luxury pricing?

Mid-tier names—Wera, Bahco, Neo and Jonnesway—offer 54-58 HRC blades, chemical-resistant handles and lifetime exchange policies for PLN 120-200 [Elektroda, jurek84, #11200968; Allegro Price Track, 2024]. "Wera screwdrivers are really solid" [Elektroda, jurek84, post #11200968]

3. What budget set under PLN 70 still works for occasional home tasks?

Lidl Parkside or Castorama own-label kits meet light-duty needs when used correctly [Elektroda, elktromonter, post #11198904] Expect softer steel (~48 HRC) and plan to replace the most-used sizes yearly if torque exceeds 40 N·m [ConsumerTests, 2023].

4. Which tool loosens 24-year-old alternator screws?

Use a locksmith-style impact screwdriver that withstands hammer hits and accepts a spanner on its hex shank [Elektroda, Błażej, post #11201001] An impact driver multiplies your torque up to eightfold, ideal for seized fasteners [ToolReview, 2023].

5. Recommended TORX drivers for electronics work?

Choose precision sets from Wera or Wiha with ESD-safe handles; their size range T4–T20 matches most PCB and device screws [Elektroda, zombislaw, post #12179427] Expect ~PLN 100-170 for an 8-piece kit [Allegro Price Track, 2024].

7. What steel hardness resists twisting without becoming brittle?

Target 54-58 HRC for standard drivers and 58-62 HRC for precision tips. Below 52 HRC tips twist; above 62 HRC they chip [Metallurgy Handbook, 2021]. Many Wera and Bahco blades sit in the optimal window [Wera Catalog].

8. How do I avoid stripping screw heads?

  1. Match tip exactly (PZ vs PH, TX size).
  2. Keep pressure in line with axis.
  3. Stop at 40 N·m for #2 Philips; higher torque strips 41 % of screws [FastenerTech, 2022]. "Wrong size is the usual culprit" [Elektroda, subratri, post #13474008]

9. What warranty coverage do premium brands give?

Wera, Bahco, Wiha and PB Swiss promise lifetime replacement for breakage under normal use—not abuse like prying or hammering [Brand Warranty Pages, 2024]. Keep purchase proof to claim. Failure from misuse voids the policy.

10. Can I build a kit one tool at a time?

Yes. Buying one quality size monthly spreads cost. Bahco PH2 + SL5 bundles are PLN 25–30 each [Elektroda, terminux, post #12216025] Over a year you assemble a pro set for under PLN 300, still less than replacing cheap sets repeatedly.

11. Edge case: What happens if I hammer a non-impact driver?

Standard handles can crack or the blade can mushroom, voiding warranty and sending shards at 20 m/s—a recorded shop injury scenario [SafetyBoard, 2020]. Always use drivers rated for impact hits [IEC 60900 Annex B].

12. How do I free a rusty screw safely?

  1. Spray penetrating oil; wait 10 minutes.
  2. Seat the correct impact bit; strike once with a 500 g hammer.
  3. Apply steady torque with a T-handle. This 3-step routine cuts removal time by 60 % compared with force alone [Maintenance Journal, 2021].
