Starting off, it is worth mentioning that I am a total amateur when it comes to computers. I have no knack for it, and I rather use the computer to use the Internet or create something for school. Despite the fact that it does not perform any work that overwhelms its capabilities, it has recently started to crash. It consists in the fact that at some point most often when using a web browser (I tried several browsers) the computer stops responding. It freezes without responding to any commands (even a reset) and the only way to turn it off is to pull out the power supply, or hold the power button for a longer time. I searched a lot of websites thanks to which I tried to save the computer on my own. First, I created a new administrator user, and simply removed the old one, which of course did not help. Then I decided to clean the computer inside, which I did very carefully with the use of spray air, because I did it for the first time, as you can see, it did not help. Subsequently, I had the idea to install a few extra antiviruses as I was only using the standard Microsoft Security Essentials. Among the newly uploaded anti-viruses, the AVG program also appeared, which detected two Trojans in my computer. I deleted them immediately, thinking that this was the cause of the computer variation. Unfortunately, despite curing the computer of viruses, the problem persisted. I also used all safe disk defragmentation programs etc. I also updated all the drivers, which did not fix the computer freezes. I also thought it might be a power supply problem, but I ruled it out for one simple reason - I have had this computer for two years and as I mentioned I don't use it for any higher purposes than browsing the internet. I should also mention that the computer has been left without the sides of the case since my yesterday cleaning so that it does not overheat.

Due to the fact that I do not know what else I could describe, I will present a few symptoms of computer activities that surprised me. First of all, the speakers (certainly functional - I checked it on another computer) work when they want. For example, when I watch a movie on VLC Player everything is fine, but when I start youtube.pl there is silence and then the computer freezes. The situation that happened to me when downloading Spotify directly from the creator's website is also very suspicious, because while I clicked the "download" button, the computer crashed.

Finally, here are some parameters of my computer that I was able to get:

Computer model: Action ACT Sierra W7HP i3
    Processor (description): CORE i3 540 3.06GHz LGA1156 BOX PROCESSOR
    Processor (family): Intel Core i3
Operating system: MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Hard Drive: Western Digital 500 GB
The computer was bought in the media expercie and so far even its housing has not been removed. Thanks in advance for your help.

There is a chance to open the computer? You need the model and brand of the power supply.
Give a screenshot from CristalDiskInfo and HWmonitor.

    A mere oversight.

So enter the brand and power of the power supply and everything that is in the computer, in addition to what we already know.

I personally would check the SMART disk, as reported by Swiercim

Then he cleaned the computer with programs

of course, if the first stage is successful / SMART)

Good morning, I have a similar problem, so after loading the system and going to the desktop, the computer freezes (even the watch is stuck), icons, etc. are loaded, but I do not know whether the programs are, because I do not even reactivate on ctrlaltdelete. Usually after 5-15 minutes, but today I turned on the computer, I went to a meeting and the same state (jammed)
    Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Seagate 250GB Ata Drive (Bad sectors exist) (OS)
The Samsung 650GB 2.5 inch drive served somehow as a portable drive, but I inserted it permanently into the unit.
    Intel Core 2 quad Q8300 2.5 GHz
    Graph: Nv GF GT 240
    motherboard: gigabyte GA-EP45C-DS3R 8GB RAM DDR3 1333
    seasonic SS-500ET power supply

    Please help

well, he has bad sectors for over half a year and sometimes he banged blue screens, and this has been happening to me for about 2 months, which is something after I replaced avast with eseta; and when I put it to sleep, it charged normally.

As for the power supply: Modecom FEEL III-400ATX
I found a picture of the label on this power supply on the Internet. On mine, there is only a different arrangement of the table and the company logo, but all information and parameters are identical.

Ps. Forgive me for taking it so much, but checking anything (let alone installing an additional program) on this computer requires a lot of luck :)

    Try to repair the disk.

The power supply is not great, and also take care of it - check what voltage it gives

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a computer that frequently freezes, particularly during web browsing, requiring a hard reset to recover. The user, lacking technical expertise, attempted various troubleshooting steps, including creating a new administrator account and cleaning the computer's interior. Responses from other users suggest checking the SMART status of the hard drive using CrystalDiskInfo, cleaning the system with malware removal tools like Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner, and verifying the power supply's voltage. One user reported having a similar issue with a system running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, which included a Seagate 250GB drive with bad sectors and a Seasonic SS-500ET power supply. The importance of addressing potential hardware issues, such as bad sectors on the hard drive and the quality of the power supply, was emphasized.
