    Hello,

I know the topic has appeared hundreds of times, but :)

85cm mesh antenna, positioned perfectly according to:
    http://www.dishpointer.com/test/supermap.htm?satellite=0130&address=liverpool+l6+6df
The standard converter came with the antenna.
The antenna is precisely positioned with the Mezon DSM15 meter,
    10m DG-113 cable, Cabelcon F connectors.

Tuner nc + nbox hdtv, And now it is zonk, ni how can I not catch the signal quality, the strength reaches 90%. I borrowed a monoblock converter, changed the tuner to the F5S skybox, and earned a shorter cable. And the signal quality does not even flicker.

Any suggestions that I might have missed? Is it possible that the antenna dish is defective? Because other elements have probably been eliminated.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Best regards,
    demeus

I understand it the most, but the antenna was set according to compass and maps from dishpointer.com, the meter shows a large signal but somehow it will not vibrate, I looked for the signal by moving the antenna a few degrees left and right but to no avail.

Therefore, I used the meter and initially used the setting according to dispointer.com

But dishpointer.com shows very nicely where to point the antenna. Unfortunately, I do not have an analog tuner.

If you have exhausted all possibilities, you think that what you are doing is right and you still haven't got a signal, call a specialist.

Write whether the decoder was programmed, have you already received programs on it, or a new one from the store taken to the UK?

demeus >>> set the antenna to the max on the meter signal level - (turn a lot to the right and left from the position you set on the compass) - when you find the max, turn Astra to the right (standing behind the antenna) by 6 degrees (on the mast ok 0.5 cm) the next ping on the meter a bit weaker than the Astra will be HotBird

You write as if there were only 2 satellites Astra and Hotbird in the sky. You forgot about the strong 28.5 ° signal, there is still a satellite at 16 ° between Astra and Hotbird, you know that? What do you think there will be signals from these satellites on the meter? after your advice, how will the author know where he is? Maybe it will be at 28.5 °.

    I confirm.
QQQ, 21 days have elapsed, do you think it's up to date?

Occupational bias ;) (Krakow is at 19E) so for me Astra at 19.2 is the strongest signal and the highest (elevation) and sometimes I use this method myself - hence this suggestion.

As for the Eutelsat at 16E it is so weak that on an ordinary meter such as DSM it practically does not give "ping" (at least in Poland in Krakow).

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges faced in setting up an 85cm mesh antenna for receiving Hotbird signals in the UK Islands. The user reports achieving a signal strength of 90% but no signal quality, despite using a Mezon DSM15 meter, a 10m DG-113 cable, and Cabelcon F connectors. Various responses suggest that the antenna may not be correctly aligned with the Hotbird satellite, with recommendations to adjust the antenna position beyond compass settings and to use a standard digital tuner for better signal detection. Some participants express skepticism about relying solely on compass readings and suggest consulting a specialist if issues persist. The conversation highlights the importance of precise antenna alignment and the potential for interference from other satellites.
