Simson S51 6V Wiring Diagram—No Lights After New Installation, What to Check?

How do I get the lights working after rewiring a Simson S51 6V, and what should I check on the ignition switch?

Check whether the ignition switch connects pin 59 to pin 56 in position 2; if 59 has voltage but 56 does not, the switch is wrong, miswired, or faulty [#14026167][#14027957][#14060800] Start the engine and test pin 59 with a bulb, then turn the key to the light position and test pin 56 the same way [#14026167] If a temporary bridge from 59 to 56 makes the lights come on, that confirms the lighting circuit itself works, but the switch is not switching the output correctly [#14028085][#14028104] The replies state that in position 2 there must be continuity from 59 to 56, and if several new switches all fail, they may be bad replacements or the wrong type [#14058153][#14060800] Comparing the switch with a known-good Simson or returning the new switch and fitting an original one was suggested [#14058153][#14060800]

Start the engine, pin no.59 on the ignition switch and check if there is voltage with a bulb. How is it, turn the ignition switch to the "light" position and check with the bulb on pin56 if there is voltage.

The voltage is at 59, and not at 56, I will add that I bought a new ignition.
Or maybe this pattern is wrong. Unless there must be a battery for the lights that I do not have yet.

No, how does it not power these lights. Only parking, if I'm not mistaken. So make a bridge from 59 to 56 for now and check if it lights up. Then look for another pin at the ignition that gives power from pin 59. Maybe on another pin this voltage appears after turning, if I'm not mistaken, it is twice.

I made a bridge and the lights are on but all the time. Other pins also do not work, what should I do to make the lights in the second position?

Replace the ignition with a new one, if it does not work. Maybe this new one is flawed.

It has to work. After turning the ignition switch to the second position, there is to be a contact. I don't know why it's not there. I analyzed several diagrams.

Either these ignition switches are faulty and return them, or you connect something wrong. I suppose this ignition switch is a Chinese product. Because DDR costs about PLN 54. There is to be a transition in position 2 of the key from 59 to 56. If you have a friend who has such a simson, check with him. But I am 100% sure that it should be like that. Give them back and buy the original. Because it is not possible.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around troubleshooting the ignition switch of a Simson S51 moped, specifically regarding the absence of lights after a new installation. The user initially checks for voltage at various pins on the ignition switch, discovering voltage at pin 59 but not at pin 56. Suggestions include bridging pins 59 and 56 to test the lights, but this results in the lights being constantly on. The user has replaced the ignition switch multiple times without success, leading to speculation about the quality of the switches, with recommendations to return faulty products and seek original parts. Diagrams and additional resources are shared to assist in understanding the wiring and functionality of the ignition switch.
