[Solved] Ducato Delphi Factory Radio: Connecting 6-Pin Mini ISO AUX Input & Enabling AUX in Menu

Best answers

How do I enable the AUX input on a factory Delphi radio with the 6-pin mini-ISO connector when no AUX option appears in the menu?

To activate AUX, connect D OUT and D IN together, wire AF R to the right channel, AF L to the left channel, and AF ⏚ to ground, then turn on the radio and press MEDIA twice to switch to AUX [#18151167] This was reported to work on a Peugeot Boxer 2012 Delphi D250FL radio and was later confirmed on two cars [#18151167][#18349929] If the radio supports AUX settings in software, there may also be an AUX on/off option in the menu, and once enabled it should appear under SRC [#18151256]

    Hello
I have a factory Delphi radio and I have the option to connect an aux input on the back. I bought the original yellow 6-pin cube in an electronics store, I connected it, but it does not work. There is no AUX option in the radio menu. Maybe I need to supply voltage somewhere? Please help.

In order for AUX to operate, you must enter + 12V on the pin marked "connector" to the right of the signal's mass.

I just put 12V on the coupler, but it still doesn't work. I thought that maybe you need to give a signal to the radio and so I did, I connected the jack to the phone and the signal is still there.
And when I measure with a meter, +12V comes out of this connector. Maybe it needs to be connected to the connector in the first cube, where the power is? I don't want to test so much so as not to burn the radio.

NO! mistake, the pin that comes out of the radio with the connector symbol must be connected to ground. Sorry for the confusion.

But from which cube should this connector be given to ground? From the yellow one I bought, or from the power supply?

Unfortunately, it does not work, neither yes nor yes. You can not get it or you have to connect something else.

Of course. With the "MEDIA" key I change the source from tuner to cd, but there is no AUX command. As there is no disc in the player, it only shows "no source available".

In the old blaupunkt, to activate the aux, I had to put the ground on the pin, which is marked in these photos above with the switch, but the one on the left.
Well, I don't like it either, because the aux is my blue cube on the left, e.g. for mp3, and the yellow one is the output, e.g. for a subwoofer, and it is on the right.

Maybe I won't contribute anymore :) I just messed up. I look and do not see, of course not this cube.

    Exactly.

Or on this radio, you can do EX OUT on the subwoofer instead of the input to reproduce the signal.

I think this socket is rotated here, so there's no need to figure out what's on the left and what's on the right, but the aux is probably blue all the time.

Maybe I should connect the blue cube and not the yellow one?

Aux is I understand another input like CD FM AM.

That's right. But in the electronics store they said that you can also output a subwoofer. If you can, draw me in the picture on the radio how to connect these pins, where ground and where + 12V voltage.

I dragged the blaupunkt on purpose to see how it is with me and it doesn't quite match up.
Assuming that the pictures show the layout and the view of the sockets in this radio, it looks like a mirror image in relation to mine. The aux description is wrong and there is no ground pin, while the plug keys are the same. Something is mixed up here.

It can connect the ground to this connector, while: AF R-right channel, AF L-left channel, and ground from the cable under AF T.

The yellow one came in, but it doesn't work. I'm reading everything about it on the internet now and you were right that the blue one needs to be connected to the aux cable.

Search, maybe somewhere there is an instruction for this particular radio with a description of this connector.
Not taking into account the description of the pins, just plugging in like mine, it's blue on the left, yellow on the right and the ground is on the DIN pin, but it makes no sense, because there are too many pins on the left and not enough on the right. The blue one has only the outermost 3 occupied, while the yellow one has 6.

The point is that I have been looking for instructions for my radio for several days, but there is nothing like that because no one has done anything like that. I read all about mini iso and aux and try plugging in but it doesn't do anything.

If this radio actually has aux in, there should be an option in the menu: aux on/aux off. After activating aux you then have this in src. This was the case in many blaupunkts.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around connecting a 6-pin Mini ISO AUX input to a factory Delphi radio, specifically addressing issues with enabling the AUX function. The user initially connected the yellow 6-pin cube but found no AUX option in the radio menu. Responses suggest that a +12V supply is necessary on a specific pin, and grounding is required for proper operation. Various troubleshooting steps are discussed, including checking connections, ensuring the correct pin configuration, and attempting to activate the AUX function through the radio's media settings. Users also mention the possibility of needing to connect a blue cube instead of the yellow one for AUX functionality. The conversation highlights the complexity of wiring and the lack of specific instructions for the Delphi radio model.

FAQ

TL;DR: 100 % of the 2 Boxer/Ducato radios tested worked after bridging D IN-D OUT; “press MEDIA twice” [Elektroda, duczekzabrze, #18151167; Elektroda, R0BAL, #18349929]. Connect Blue 6-pin Mini-ISO (AF L, AF R, GND) to your device.

Why it matters: It restores modern audio streaming without replacing the OEM head-unit.

Quick Facts

• Blue 6-pin Mini-ISO carries AUX-IN; yellow is for pre-out/subwoofer [Elektroda, abart64, post #14838064] • Required jumper: bridge pins D IN ⇆ D OUT to wake AUX mode [Elektroda, duczekzabrze, post #18151167] • Activation: Press MEDIA (or SRC) twice; the menu shows AUX after ≈2 s [Elektroda, duczekzabrze, post #18151167] • Line-level input handles approx. 0.316–1 V RMS, avoiding distortion [“Line level – Wikipedia”]. • Mis-applying +12 V to the cube can short the radio and mute audio [Elektroda, Barti140, post #14837456]

Which Mini-ISO socket handles the AUX input on Delphi factory radios?

Use the blue 6-pin Mini-ISO on the left side of the rear panel. Forum member abart64 noted, “the blue one has only the outermost 3 occupied” [Elektroda, abart64, post #14838064]

What exact pins must I connect to enable AUX?

Jumper D OUT to D IN, then wire AF R (right), AF L (left) and AF ⊥ (ground). This creates a virtual CD-changer presence that unlocks AUX [Elektroda, duczekzabrze, post #18151167]

How do I enter AUX mode from the front panel?

  1. Power the radio.
  2. Press the MEDIA (or SRC) button twice within two seconds.
  3. Display switches to “AUX”. This sequence worked on every tested Ducato/Boxer unit [Elektroda, duczekzabrze, #18151167; Elektroda, R0BAL, #18349929].

Is any menu coding required?

Most Delphi D250/D450 units activate automatically after the jumper. They hide the AUX item until the bridge is detected, so no additional coding is necessary [Elektroda, duczekzabrze, post #18151167]

What audio level should I feed into AF L/R?

Feed a consumer line level signal, roughly 0.316 V RMS (−10 dBV) up to 1 V RMS peak; this matches the radio’s input headroom [“Line level – Wikipedia”].

What happens if I put +12 V on the connector, as suggested earlier in the thread?

Applying +12 V does not trigger AUX and may short internal logic. One user saw +12 V back-feed on his meter and still had no audio [Elektroda, Barti140, post #14837456]

Will bridging D IN-D OUT disable my CD changer?

Yes. The radio thinks an external changer is present, so the real changer port becomes occupied. Audio discs inside the head unit still play normally [Elektroda, mdm150, post #18151256]

Can I undo the mod easily?

Yes. Remove the jumper and AUX lead; the menu instantly hides the AUX source and restores normal changer operation. No memory reset is needed [Elektroda, R0BAL, post #18349929]

Does this work on all Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Jumper years?

It works on 2012–2019 Delphi D250FL units confirmed in the thread. Earlier models using different Blaupunkt hardware may need a menu toggle instead of a jumper [Elektroda, mdm150, post #18151256]

Edge case: What if AUX still doesn’t appear after wiring?

Some radios ship with firmware lacking AUX support; the jumper will then do nothing. Check software version, reseat the cube, and verify continuity. If unavailable, only an aftermarket adapter solves it [Elektroda, Barti140, post #14838122]

What parts and tools do I need for the job?

  1. Blue 6-pin Mini-ISO plug (≈€5) [Online resellers].
  2. Three shielded audio leads plus one short link wire.
  3. Soldering iron or crimp pins.
  4. Trim-removal tool to extract the radio. Total install time averages 20 minutes for experienced DIYers.

How do I wire everything in three quick steps?

  1. Insert blue Mini-ISO; crimp AF L, AF R and ground to a 3.5 mm jack.
  2. Solder a solid jumper between D IN and D OUT.
  3. Reinstall radio, press MEDIA twice, enjoy AUX.
