Hello, forum elektroda.pl, [sorry for the lack of pl characters, unfortunately the keyboard is broken]

I have a question and a request for help. My motherboard does not have an older PCI slot. Because the sound card that I really care about works only on such a slot - I bought an adapter that uses the PCI-E slot and the problem would be over if it wasn't for the limited space, besides, the mounting pegs overlap and if it's not a problem, remove one of them, I noticed that physically the card could be turned to the inside of the computer and not to its outside. So here's my question: is this allowed? The number of paths is identical and the same on both sides, so the cuts and the septum fit both ways, but is it actually possible for it to work both ways? [see photos] I don't think so, but since I really care about this card, I risked asking this perhaps naive question,

Please explain if this is acceptable?

Thank you all for every post on this matter, greetings.

Type in google: IDE and see what such a connector looks like... then change all IDEs to PCI in your post.

The card will not work mounted the other way around. You will probably burn the card and/or the disc.

OK thanks for the hint, of course it's a PCI-E to PCI adapter, sorry for the mistake.

You can combine with a riser for PCI - e.g.:
    http://www.dx.com/p/32bits-single-slot-pci-ri...n-cable-for-2u-grey-green-147210#.Vgc74LSrEwQ
and then you stuff it inside the computer

    or with a PCI-e riser
    http://www.dx.com/p/pci-express-pci-e-1x-to-3...er-ribbon-cable-for-1u-2u-155034#.Vgc8mbSrEwQ
    - then you can throw it outside the case. In fact, it will look... well, hopeless :P But if you don't care about looks, you know :)

God forbid I didn't want to incur costs :) Oh, just the first link from google to illustrate "what's going on" :P

Unfortunately, your adapter is only suitable for low-profile PCI cards. There are the following adapters for full-size cards:
PCI-E to PCI adapter - sposoby montazu
They are placed below the motherboard (micro ATX board in an ATX case).

hi, do you know where to buy something like that because I can't find it?

Do you have any experience with this type of adapters?
Do I need this driver bridge or does it work natively?
Are there any problems with the operation of PCI cards in this combination?

I have an idea to connect the laptop board with the Audigy2ZS card like this:
PCI-E to PCI adapter - sposoby montazu

It's already a few zlotys, and it would be a shame to sink in ...

It definitely needs drivers, like every PIC bridge, even the one on the board ... from what you can see in the picture, USB 3.0 comes out of mPCI-E and there is a USB PCI bridge on the card.

I launched the card and it works great, my workstation is an intel i5 2500K 4.5Ghz (overclock), the card in cooperation with this processor recently pulled over 30 synthesizers and exactly 70 effects plugins in DAW FL Studio 20 - it's not bad ... my version it's EMU 1616 ... I had to mess around a bit but it paid off because the card is good and can do a lot, although it is not of its first youth, with a heavy load, unfortunately, you have to accept the latency of 10-20 ms

PCI-E to PCI adapter - sposoby montazu

64-bit drivers work perfectly for me, so there is no problem with that, you need to install EMU Patch DSP Mixer which, in addition to the mixer interface, also has all the drivers for WIN7 x86 or x64

Can you write the exact model of this adapter and provide a photo and/or link - can I see correctly in the photo that there is a USB connection? Couldn't you screw this adapter more to the left so that the track of the PCI card fits the computer case and you can screw the PCI card with a screw?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the use of a PCI-E to PCI adapter for connecting an older sound card to a modern motherboard lacking a PCI slot. The user inquires about the feasibility of mounting the card in reverse due to space constraints, with responses indicating that this is not advisable as it could damage the card. Suggestions include using risers for better positioning of the card, and links to various adapters are provided. Users also discuss the necessity of drivers for the adapter and share experiences with specific sound cards, including the EMU 1616, which works well with the setup despite some latency issues.
