    Hello to all forum members!

    The following problem:
I want to re-install the Win10 Home system on an SSD drive with the same system already installed (upgade from win 7 to 10).
For this, I created a bootable flash drive via a tool from the Windows website.
After restarting the computer and inserting the USB flash drive, the installer starts and I come to the list of disks on which to install the fresh version of Windows. I find my SSD, select it and ... can't go any further - I get the message:

"Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk contains MBR partition tables. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed on GPT disks."

Of course, I googled the problem, changed the BIOS settings to UEFI / Legacy - still the same
    (Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H motherboard)

I checked in the BIOS this boot flash drive shows as UEFI. I checked my SSD in the MBR partition in the disk manager.

I tried to run the diskpart command through the cmd console while running the Windows installer, but I can't go to the list of disks ???

I don't know what to do next, the system already requires a fresh installation, and I can't install it ...

Use some external utility (gparted etc.) to remove the partition table from the SSD. Then come up with installing Win 10.

Since the disk is to remain with MBR style, start the installation media in Legacy mode.
Must be turned on in the disc settings CSM Support and after calling the boot menu select the pendrive without the prefix 'UEFI:'

How is the conversion to GPT (under W10 x64), then copy the relevant data somewhere and from the + installer:
    diskpart [enter]
    list disk
sel disk X (insert the number of the target disk after X)
    clean

I don't know, I tried everything, I even managed to set the USB flash drive without the UEFI prefix in BIOS boot, but I still couldn't see the disk in the installer ...

I've tried this method before, but I don't know why, after typing "diskpart" in the console, the console freezes ... the cursor is blinking but I can't enter anything ... strange

This info should be in the first post:
    - SSD model
    - W10 architecture

How are there any additional media, such as an SD card in the reader, memory USB etc, please remove it before booting DISKPART.

Since the W10 works, compare the DISKPART behavior there.
    SMART disk can be attached.

Thanks a lot system placed :D
It turns out that it was to blame for the boot pendrive, which had to be simply removed before working on the console and DISKPART.

    WojtasJD thank you!

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user's difficulty in reinstalling Windows 10 on an SSD due to an MBR partition table error on an EFI system. The user created a bootable USB drive but encountered an installation error stating that Windows can only be installed on GPT disks. Various solutions were proposed, including using external utilities like GParted to remove the partition table, ensuring the installation media is started in Legacy mode, and using the diskpart command to clean the SSD. The user ultimately resolved the issue by removing the bootable USB drive before accessing the diskpart console, which allowed the installation to proceed successfully.
