Hello, for some time in my car Passat B6 2007 the lighting indicator flashes and displays the AFS Inoperative message after connecting to the vag-can it showed the error "Damaged positioning sensor left side - 0A45" I would like to know what is the reason for this, and more precisely, is there some sensor that you just buy and replace or are there encoders on the motors instead of the sensor? could it be the fault of the module that is in the lamp?
Alternatively, is there an option to disable AFS in this passat

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You have a problem with the left lamp, check if it is on, check if the lamp is calibrating after starting the car. The problem is either the lamp itself or the xsenon positioning sensor.

It clearly indicates a fault with the leveling sensor on the left side. For this reason, the module will not control the leveling and turning of the lights, because it does not receive the correct values regarding the level of the car. The sensor needs to be replaced, you erase the errors and everything is fine.

Yes, the lamp shines normally when it comes to setting, it also levels them when starting the car. I bet on this leveling sensor, could you tell me what it looks like, where it is located and what the replacement looks like?

    Hello
Rear left leveling sensor (there is only one). At the height of the rear beam more to the left.
I edited the topic in B7. They are the same. Fits several VW Audi models.
There is a problem with unscrewing. Brass bushings in a plastic sensor cannot be unscrewed

I had an ABS error when one of the filaments failed and started to glow red. The cornering lights in both headlights did not work.
After replacing the bulbs, the error disappeared and the backlight started working as usual.
Maybe it will be useful to someone.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2007 Passat B6 experiencing an "AFS Inoperative" message due to a "Damaged positioning sensor left side - 0A45" error. Users suggest that the issue likely stems from a malfunctioning left-side leveling sensor, which affects the headlight leveling and turning functions. Recommendations include checking the left lamp and its calibration, and ultimately replacing the faulty sensor. The rear left leveling sensor is identified as the component needing replacement, and it is noted that this sensor is common across several VW and Audi models. Some users also inquire about the possibility of disabling the AFS system entirely.
