Hello, I have a problem in my Passat b6 year 06 shows me an airbag error and the light is on, they connected it to my computer and said it was an impact sensor and they were located under the front lamps and when I wanted a second mechanic to check these sensors for me, he said that there there is only the side near the pillar where the wheel arch in the middle under the carpet but he did not look there because he did not know and if anyone will rescue and say where they are?

I warmly welcome . You have to start with diagnostics, unfortunately connecting the computer is not the same. There must also be a person who knows something about Pillows. If there is an active error, it will be information on which sensor it concerns. There is information in the controller how many sensors are there and then look for the sensor (usually cleaning the contacts in the connector eliminates the error), although only the ohmmeter will tell the truth.

Thank you so much I will be looking for though the mechanic mentioned something on the left in the door and I hope that just cleaning the contacts will help

no one bodes here, connect the tester to find out.
The second thing in the door are the pillow sensors, so when you disconnected the ankles it's not hard to guess that this is the reason ...
The error must be cleared with a tester.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around diagnosing an airbag error in a 2006 VW Passat B6, attributed to impact sensors. Users mention that there are multiple crash sensors located: two at the front reinforcement, two in the front doors, and two at the rear doors. It is emphasized that proper diagnostics are crucial, as simply connecting a computer may not suffice without an experienced technician. Cleaning the contacts of the sensors is suggested as a potential solution to eliminate errors. One user also notes an issue after disconnecting electrical connectors during door repairs, indicating that the airbag error may be related to this disconnection and requires a tester to clear the error.
