    Hi,
I was surfing the net, I went to eat and I lost my internet.
I checked if the cable was loose, but no. Windows shows me a message about DNS not working. I am connected to the network but cannot access it.
I reset my modem and router and nothing. The internet provider claims that everything is fine.
I connected directly via the cable but the same. I manually set dns to google and it doesn't go either. I turned off the antivirus.

I will add that this is the first time I have had such a case. I checked if the cable is ok.
When I connect directly via cable it shows me the new network, but it is public if it has any effect. I wanted to install the modem drivers from the vectra CD, but they are already there.

I don't know what else can I do, something in the modem settings?
    Please help :)

Show all IPCONFIG / ALL because it doesn't show what is above.
And do more ping 8.8.8.8 and ping wp.pl

It looks more like the lack of internet between the router and the operator.
    Check it out ping 192.168.0.1

What router is it? What LEDs are burning on it?

No connection to the Internet, you have a good connection to the router.

    What?

You can enter the router's configuration page (http://192.168.0.1/ login and password admin ) and show full status?

And specifying an ip address is probably not very secure?

You don't need to specify, so write only two starting octets from the WAN addresses, e.g .:
    ip 192.168.xxx.xxx
    mask 255.255.xx
    gateway 192.168.xx
    dns 8.8.xx

So the router gets the IP. It is possible that this "old man" is damaged and does not transmit the Internet.

You can try to reset the router with the button on the back. If that doesn't work, technicians may need to be called in.

I tried to reset but it didn't help.
The router is probably from 2008.
But why can't I connect directly via cable?
    Thanks for the help :)

The operator uses filtering by MAC address.
Try to connect the cable directly to turn off / on the modem from vectra. If it still doesn't work then you will have to change the MAC address on the wired card in your computer to B0: 47: 7A: 9A: 44 :D B

Ping. You haven't written what modem you have, but no wifi, I guess. Do ping 192.168.100.1
If you get a reply, check your router's DNS settings. Ew, reset both devices. Don't change any macs. Vectra doesn't care what's behind eth. Show modem working parameters (192.168.100.1)

It shows that the modem is responding. Go to the page 192.168.100.1 and take a screenshot of the modem operating parameters.
Now ping 8.8.8.8 and then wp.pl. If there is no response, you will need to set the appropriate DNS server addresses on the router.

I can't see the modem working because I don't know the password and login.
8.8.8.8 does not give the same results as wp.pl. I've tried to set dns to google before.

There is one last chance - connecting the computer to the modem with a cable. Modem current restart plus booting bald in the emergency system with network support. Continue pings as before.

If the ping to the router is correct.
Call the operator's service, the problem is not yours, the equipment connects to the router. You can also list everything, but it won't change anything.
And it's best to record the visit of a specialist so that they do not make you pay for a service call at UPC - PLN 50.
I already had that the guest was then exchanged PLN 50 more on the invoice because the service was called.

I reset the device again, connected through the cable and reset the computer - the net is on!
first windows had a problem to connect to dhcp, but then it fixed itself

maybe the router will also be the same, although I have already tried it ...

I think we need to close the thread, we will not come up with anything new
Thank you veryooo much Heinzek and voo voo for your help !! :) ))

Let me add two words to this topic.
Yesterday I came back from Poland from a short stay. During my stay in Poland, I was able to connect to the Internet using the UPC network.
Two devices - netbook (Win7 64-bit) and telephone (LG - Android) - in both cases WiFi connection.

I experienced the same problem as the author of the topic. It was enough to not use the device connected to WiFi for a few minutes and a message about a DNS problem appeared.

Turning on troubleshooting from the Windows level resulted in the message that there is an Internet connection and Windows does not know where the problem is.

The solution for the netbook was to reset the network card, ie disable and enable the card in "Network Settings" with a delay of 30-40 seconds. In the case of the phone, a re-start was necessary.

I did not investigate the causes of these problems, I did not have time for it - the same devices in my home work without any problems, without any changes in the settings.

And let me just finish with the router working. I connected the modem with the router and the router from the pc. I opened the modem configuration. I don't know what impulses he got, but it's about! I unplugged the cable and the wifi works. I'm in shock. Apparently he needed some impulses, I don't know. Thanks for the help
