Too much guesswork - I would check the following:

    - the latest firmware for the router
    - information from the device if there are no link pads or something strange in the logs
    - if you have a message that DNS is not working - check in run / cmd:

    ping 8.8.8.8

If the google servers are responding, there may be a DNS error, if you have a timeout, the connection is failing.

It may also be that you have some bugs or other malicious software on your home appliances that open many sessions and run out of resources for NAT / flow / sessions - if there is something in the settings about session time, number of sessions, NAT time, it is worth reducing it.

I set DNS addresses manually on the device and in network settings to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4,

Why in two places - enough in the router.

What operator equipment, what internet and how delivered to your home?

    It's about a dormitory network,

You must report to the Admin of this network.
The academic network has its own DNS servers.

The latest router firmware was loaded from the news. The one on the site is out of date so I haven't updated. Somehow for two weeks (edit: I think it happened before ...) so is my connection. Your problem fits perfectly with mine. The network sometimes breaks down or slows down to 1 mb / s (normally the internet in the dormitory has a speed of about 10 mb / s). Everything works as it should on the cable, I just did not check the connection via the router with the Ethernet cable (is this problem also present). Once, the admin warned us that the network cannot be shared with anyone, for other offenses he threatened on the forum that it lowers the internet speed to 1 mb / s. Or maybe it did not lower me, since sometimes this router works correctly and returns the correct 10 Mb / s data transfer? Please help me, because I don't know what to do or advertise anymore? For almost a year after the purchase, it worked normally, only now (in almost the same time as yours) this problem occurred. Other router users and the dormitory do not complain yet (because they have a different brand of devices).

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a recurring issue with a router where the user experiences intermittent loss of Internet connectivity, accompanied by a "DNS server is not responding" error. Despite manually setting DNS addresses to Google's public DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), the problem persists, temporarily resolving only after a router restart. Suggestions include checking for the latest router firmware, examining router logs for anomalies, and ensuring no excessive sessions are consuming resources. The user suspects the issue may be related to router settings rather than the network itself, as other devices do not exhibit similar problems. The conversation also touches on potential network restrictions imposed by the administrator.
