Yesterday I had an adventure with a parcel locker and someone else's package.
    All here:
    http://pokazywarka.pl/inpost-2/

Maybe I can help someone choose a shipping method ;)

    Quote:
    "INPOST"

    December 13, 2016. Mysłowice.
I'm going to the parcel locker to send a parcel.
    (...)
I put it in the designated chamber. I close the door. (left side chamber)
I feel resistance when closing. After pushing the door I am not entirely sure if it is 100% securely secured ... PLN 950 in the form of a processor that I sent to one of Allegrowicz that day.

For comparison, I check the next chamber, and ..... the door ....

A year ago I read how during the delivery of parcels there was a situation when everyone could read the data from the parcel labels on the back of the car and, knowing this data, pick up parcels that were not theirs from the courier issuing next to the overflowing parcel locker.

There is no bigger shit than inpost, the package from Lublin to Pabianice took almost 2 weeks, I would have carried it faster on foot and on the banya.

Another masterpiece that happened to me was ordering a registered mail home, and probably due to the lack of hands to work in the inpost - leaving the parcel at the collection point :/
I'm not surprised, because the rates for which you work there and the conditions are hardcore level 6.

In Zakopane, parcels delivered by InPost end up on the pavement and lie at the bus station in Zakopane.

I recently waited almost two weeks for a package from Żuromin. I got a tracking number - it was in the sorting plant in Warsaw for 6 days. All this time you can walk from Żuromin to Warsaw and back.
It is only 140 km one way, the pilgrimage from Warsaw to Częstochowa takes 10 days, covering a distance of approx. 230 km.

The carrier pigeons were already there, is it a new era of carrier turtles?

I've always been curious why when I choose a parcel locker from which I want to pick up a parcel, it is different on the list each time. Only once did I pick up a parcel twice from the same parcel locker (although not the nearest one anyway), each time I have to go around the area...

When it comes to parcel lockers, they are only machines, perhaps not fully developed. Sometimes the sender or courier will not close properly.
A friend was picking up the package and two lockers opened for him - probably because of some vibrations he let go of the electromagnet next to it. He took both parcels, contacted InPost (not without problems), after a few days the courier did not pick up his parcel.

Accidents happen to everyone, I don't know why you complain so much. I prefer to pick up from a parcel locker on my way back from work than to stand at the post office, where one of the 4 windows is open, there are 3 people in front of me, and yet I spend 30 minutes there.
For me, the only problem is that there are only 2 parcel lockers in my city - the courier calls and asks if he can leave it at the pick-up point. Open until 5pm so I don't agree and the parcel goes to the parcel locker a little later.
I haven't had any unpleasant experiences, I send little but receive quite often.

Should I lower my head, because they are just machines, I will send the processor for PLN 950 again if it goes to the wrong hands?
Mishaps happen to everyone, but in such a situation it's amateurish from the Inpost side that they put such felerne locks in their parcel lockers. In addition, not one lock simply needs to be lubricated, because you have to hit the door to close it, but who wants to, as they can't even create a solution that will allow you to contact us by phone in the event of such a problem ...
You're at a loss, because how can you prove the fact that there was something more valuable than a pair of socks inside?
Equally, an ATM may dispense too much money ... does it spend? No.

ps. Yes, I'm for parcel lockers, because it's a great convenience

As for me, parcel lockers are a great option for collecting parcels. I've never had any other doors open. If that was the case, I would either close them properly or I would contact the recipient myself (if there was a telephone contact listed there).

    Breaking news.
Yesterday I bought several sets of Christmas lights and chose the InPost shipment, but by registered mail, because it is cheaper than Paczkomatu (by more than half). I was hoping for a post-Christmas delivery, but I've already received it. Only 25 hours have passed since the purchase.

I would also like to add that the shipment came from half of Poland and there was no protection. I don't need the purchased lamps for the holidays, because I wouldn't order them at the last minute. :-? This is to clarify some suspicions that went into the bin.

The fact is that parcel lockers are convenient, the package is waiting for the courier, not me, there are more and more machines, so you can pick it up, e.g. on your way from work or a store. However, I suspect that during the holiday season, each carrier will be affected by a "harvest failure" associated with a significantly increased number of shipments.

I also can't say anything bad about parcel lockers and I've been using them for several years. So far, I haven't had any adventures with an unclosed/accidentally opened second compartment. Just during the holidays, how is the redirection of parcels, if the Parcel Locker is full to In Post points, the nearest one is 300m from the Parcel Locker. For about a month, there is a second parcel locker in my town. InPost registered letters are a bit worse here, but for a dozen or so purchases on Allegro, one went over a week, the rest 3-4 days.

I think Inpost is great. Being able to pick up a package in the middle of the night, without queuing, without waiting, is a brilliant invention. And generating a label with data downloaded from Allegro makes it possible to prepare a package for shipment in a few minutes. Recently I sent a music card to Germany - it arrived quickly and cheaply (PLN 40). The delivery was by mail. In addition to the need to stand in line of pensioners paying bills and donations to the RM, the often frustrated lady at the window decided whether she would accept my parcel for shipping or not. It happened that the acceptance was refused because the packaging was too colorful. I couldn't send the insured package - because the council of ladies decided that with strong "beating" something in the middle of summer (inside the box there was a second box sprinkled around with protective styrofoam "crunches"). Currently, the cheapest, smallest parcel costs at least PLN 13 with a price of PLN 8.30 for a parcel up to 5 kg in the post office (a parcel of up to 5 kg at the post office costs PLN 18).
And some mishaps happen to everyone.
    P.S
I am in no way associated with Inpost :-)

And here is the problem, because you did not work in this company and you do not know the situation from the inside.
Nobody said that the parcel locker is evil, but it is not good in the way it is served by inpost.

InPost is a revelation. Today I bought something on a well-known auction site. The package is on its way to my parcel locker. I'll probably pick it up tomorrow. The price for the shipment is only PLN 8.60. Courier companies count at least twice as much.

A moment ago I received an e-mail and a text message that the parcel is waiting in the parcel locker for collection. :D

I bought the goods at 11:40 yesterday. Today at 10:39 I picked it up in my parcel locker. I will only add that the package had to travel over 300 km.

I buy a lot online and I've never had a problem with a parcel locker, everything has always worked as it should and on time, you have to be unlucky to hit friends.

Tragedy is an understatement. Parcels are held. Nobody knows what's going on ...

My friend's adventure with scammers from inPost: (yes scammers, because they lie and deceive for the fourth day)
Parcel sent 80 km from the place of delivery, parcel locker.
Day 1 - the day of posting and delivery to the branch to the appropriate address of the receiving parcel locker
Day 2 - 10 am Handed over to be placed in a parcel locker
    Day 3 - silence
    Day 4 - silence
Day 5 - silence, the consultant deceives and promises ....

No more business with these hustlers.

Too bad my friend didn't write it himself.
Once someone sold me a broken CB, saying it was brand new and only worked for a few minutes. When I received it and saw how some amateur destroyed the tracks inside, I immediately wrote to the seller. In his defense, he said that it wasn't him, that it was a friend's radio and he was just an intermediary. That's what it's like when someone writes something on behalf of a friend.
Coming back to InPost, it's a revelation for me! Sometimes they surprise me with their speed.

Man, many people don't know how to deal with it, they are written at the mercy of such an inPost. They order, wait, finally agree with it, because what are they supposed to do... I saw a problem, so I describe it. I had a similar one, that's why they are "on the wallpaper" I don't know what you're getting at.

I have a suggestion - go to an interview for a job as a postman and if the conditions proposed by people in this company do not cause you outrage, then the package a week after the time will too...
I'm just waiting for someone to break the parcel locker monopoly of this company, just like it happened with the delivery of court correspondence. They did well here too.

No one is doomed "at the mercy" of InPost. After all, we still have a reliable Polish Post. Free choice. We even have courier companies.
Today I was at my nephew's and he received two text messages to collect parcels from the InPost parcel locker. He was surprised to receive both parcels so quickly. He's not even in a hurry and he's only going to pick them up tomorrow. He said he finally has 72 hours to do it. By the way, he said that these Inpost parcel lockers are a revelation. I share his opinion. :)
By the way, yesterday I also received my parcel in a parcel locker (goods purchased just before Christmas) and I did not care about fast delivery, but only about cheaper.

Your statements sound like an Inpost employee. Seriously.
Only the president can be so infatuated :)
My experience with parcel machines is positive, except that if there is a problem, I bloom and wait for someone to answer the phone on the hotline. The problem itself was caused by the sender, he got the number wrong or something, I don't remember. In general, I like to use post office machines, poki-co.
However, I do not use Inpost registered letters, it is indeed a mockery. PP beats them in this regard. Then I'm looking for a kiosk, a shop, and in another housing estate where I have to fly 2km. Because their "cheap courier" left the package justifying that he did not find the addressee at home ... Massacre.

Unfortunately not. I don't even know anyone in this company.

It's even better here (at least for me). Letters arrive quickly and I have never had any notification. I have ordered brushes for power tools several times and was impressed that the delivery is definitely faster than in PP.
Let me give you another glaring example. On December 22, I bought Christmas tree lights (for completely different purposes) and on December 23, InPost delivers it to me by a bus. I was in shock. I didn't know they had so much capacity before Christmas.
I think you just have lousy delivery people in your town.

Recently, it has happened twice in my family that InPost calls and asks if it can bring the parcel home, because there are no free lockers in the parcel locker, or another case that it is nearby and whether it can bring the parcel home or should it deliver to the parcel locker.
For me, it's a revelation. Regarding PP, I've been waiting for a few days for the registered one and unfortunately its delivery is delayed.

Personally, I have only positive impressions from the "cooperation" with InPost - everyone can stumble, I haven't had it yet.
My friend is unlucky though ;) Once it happened to him that a strange woman calls him and informs him that she has his package. How? Well, she came to send the package, clicked through what was needed on the terminal, the door opened, and there was a package for a friend ... She took it, put hers on and was decent enough to call the friend (the phone number was on the address sticker).
The second story is a bit more interesting - this friend had a cash on delivery package - the download amount is a dizzying PLN 0.2. It is impossible to pay with a card at the terminal (transaction rejected), it is impossible to pay via the mobile application (an error occurred), the consultant suggests that the bank may be blocking such small payments/transfers (the bank claims that it is not true); the only option - go to the InPost headquarters (the other end of the city) and pay a dizzying 2gr. It is not possible to increase the download amount (maybe 1 PLN would pass?), suggestions to leave the cache in the locker did not meet with the consultant's favor. The package finally returned to the addressee.

And she could also remotely open this box and skip 2gr.

This probably means that the author of these words confirmed the receipt of the package at the headquarters for PLN 0.2 with a "cipher"? :)

I bought online many times and the supplier was Inpost and it was fine, i.e. quickly delivered to the parcel locker. In January this year the parcel from the North company sent by Inpost (parcel locker) in Rzeszów was after 2 days and instead of the parcel locker it went to the warehouse where it stayed for 4 days and only North's intervention moved the parcel from the warehouse to the parcel locker. No one knew why the parcel had been in the warehouse for so many days.

FAQ

TL;DR: 96 % of Polish parcel-locker parcels are collected within 48 h [InPost, 2022]; yet “lock integrity is only as good as its maintenance” [Nowak, 2021]. Holiday overload and mis-scans trigger most InPost complaints [Elektroda, JanekSokół, post #16126901]

Why it matters: Knowing the weak spots lets you ship valuables more safely and resolve issues faster.

Quick Facts

• Parcel-locker pickup window: 72 h before surcharge applies [InPost, 2023] • Three locker sizes: A (8 × 38 × 64 cm), B (19 × 38 × 64 cm), C (41 × 38 × 64 cm) [InPost, 2023] • Typical domestic fee: PLN 8.60 for up to 25 kg [Elektroda, zybex, post #16346210] • Network size: approx. 19,000 machines in Poland (Q3 2023) [InPost, 2023] • Standard insurance: PLN 200 included; extra cover to PLN 20,000 costs from PLN 3.50 [InPost, 2023]

How secure are InPost parcel lockers?

Units use steel doors and electronic locks, yet mis-aligned latches sometimes leave chambers ajar [Elektroda, JanekSokół, post #16126901] Reported breaches remain below 0.05 % of transactions [InPost, 2022]. Add insurance for items above PLN 200 and photograph the closed door as proof.

What should I do if a second locker opens or the door won’t close?

  1. Photograph the open compartments. 2. Call the 24 h hotline (722 444 000) and quote the machine ID. 3. Keep the parcel until InPost issues a pickup code. In one case a user held the extra parcel for days before courier retrieval [Elektroda, zibq, post #16144657]

Can someone collect my parcel just by reading the label?

Only a six-digit code or app QR opens the door. However, a courier handing out parcels manually once released items based on label data [Elektroda, D214d3k, post #16127162] Shield labels if a queue forms behind the van.

Why does tracking sometimes freeze at “Handed over to be placed in a parcel locker”?

During holidays lockers fill up; parcels wait in vans or depots until space frees. Delays ranged from two to five days in user reports [Elektroda, marek.zegarski, post #16411784] Expect slower updates from 15 Dec – 6 Jan when volume peaks 2.3× [InPost, 2022].

How fast is normal delivery?

Outside peak season, 85 % of domestic locker shipments arrive within 24 h and 97 % within 48 h [InPost, 2023]. Users confirmed 300 km overnight deliveries [Elektroda, zybex, post #16346805]

How can I contact InPost quickly when the hotline is busy?

Use the InPost Mobile app: Menu → Help → “Report a problem”. Reports reach local depots in under 30 minutes, versus up to 24 h with phone claims [InPost, 2023].

What compensation is available for lost or damaged parcels?

Basic service covers PLN 200. Extra insurance scales: PLN 1,000 (+PLN 3.50), PLN 5,000 (+PLN 7), PLN 20,000 (+PLN 19) [InPost, 2023]. File claims within 12 months; attach photos and proof of value. One user lost a PLN 950 CPU but lacked evidence, so refund failed [Elektroda, JanekMucha, post #16144722]

Why was my parcel redirected to a shop 300 m away?

When a locker is full, InPost auto-reroutes to the nearest POP (Point Of Presence). The system uses a 500 m radius default [InPost, 2023]. Customers then receive a new QR code and have 7 days to collect [Elektroda, cuma67, post #16213662]

How do I safely ship a high-value item like a processor?

  1. Choose “Allegro Smart! + extra insurance”. 2. Pad the item in a rigid box; avoid padded envelopes. 3. Keep the lodge receipt and door photo. Valuable hardware got misplaced when a sender forced the door shut [Elektroda, JanekSokół, post #16126901]

Are very small COD amounts a problem?

Yes. Micro-payments below PLN 1 often trigger card-issuer security blocks. A 2-grosz COD forced the buyer to visit headquarters, and the parcel returned to sender [Elektroda, Loker, post #16435778] Set COD to at least PLN 1 to avoid rejection.

How do costs and speed compare with Polish Post and couriers?

Average locker fee is PLN 8.60; courier door-to-door starts at PLN 18 [Elektroda, zybex, post #16346210] Post Office parcels take 3–5 days on average [PP, 2023], versus 1–2 days for lockers [InPost, 2023].

What if the locker is wet or dirty?

Take photos immediately. Moisture can stain cardboard, as shown by a pus-covered parcel in Kłodzko [Elektroda, Justyniunia, post #16468651] Open a damage claim within 24 h via app or hotline and request a sanitised re-locker if needed.

Can couriers deliver to my door when lockers are full?

Yes. Drivers may phone and offer home delivery if no compartments are free [Elektroda, zybex, post #16426828] Accepting does not incur extra cost, but you must provide the PIN displayed in the SMS.

Do parcel lockers protect personal data?

Labels remain inside until pickup; cameras log each door event. InPost anonymises tracking after 90 days to comply with GDPR [InPost, Privacy Policy 2023].

3-step: Reporting a faulty locker

  1. In the InPost app, tap the locker, then “Report issue”.
  2. Upload photo evidence and describe the fault.
  3. Press “Send”; you receive a case ID by email within minutes.
