Hello, yes yes. Today I took a mobile internet from play, and with it the huewai e5186 router, net is nice to download for LTE + 110 Mb / s download, but that's not the point. I want to make AP from my old archer c7 router. So I did as they taught me at school on computer networks that from the huewai router I connected via twisted pair with tplink and the tplink via a twisted pair. The ip address on the huewai router is 192.168.8.1 (I changed the address to 192.168.8.2-250 (because it was 100-200)). Then I entered the tplink settings by changing its ip address to 192.168.8.100 and turning off DHCP. Later I turned on WDS, set the name of the wifi network and added the huewai router to the bridge connection setting channel 1 on both. My problem is that the Internet works until I pull the twisted pair connecting both routers, then there is no internet for wifi and cable.

Here ss from the bridge settings etc.

Decide whether you want to set AP on C7 or get a connection between them via WiFi? WDS between these two devices will not work. As an AP, C7 connects via a LAN-LAN cable on both routers. On C7 you disable DHCP. An address in the E5186 range but outside of its DHCP. that is 192.168.8.2 and DHCP on E5186 as before. WiFi on C7 may have the same name and security but a different channel. If you want to connect both via WiFi, it is necessary to change OFW to C7 for alternative, e.g. Gargoyle 1.9 http://dl.eko.one.pl/gargoyle-pl/chaos_calmer/ar71xx/ and on it configuration of the wireless bridge with (or without) a relay http://tplink-forum.pl/index.php?/topic/566-t...dge-i-przeka%C5%BAnikrepeater-na-gargoyle-pl/

I want to do so that both routers are connected to each other wirelessly, because they have to stand in other rooms, but this c7 is really just AP. So it's best to change back to 5186 address pools from 100-200 and then give c7 192.168.8.2 for C7 (whether to leave 192.168.1.2 as standard (whether it should be 8 (because it is 5186) or not)). I don't think I will, I find it too difficult :P

How wirelessly you got instructions on how to do it on C7. Wireless bridge + Relay is a Repeater. On the official FW C7 does not have such a function and the WDS mode available on it will not work with E5186. In addition, for C7 to connect to E5186 in bridge mode, it must have a minimum signal level of -70dBm. You also have to take into account the decrease in WiFi speed in C7 repeater mode. To sum up, without changing OFW to C7 to OpenWRT, e.g. Gargoyle, you won't be able to connect to E5186 for WiFi.

D5 is an ADSL router and there is no alternative software for it. Only cable and LAN configuration for additional AP.

I've already done it, thank you for your help

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around setting up a TP-Link Archer C7 as an access point (AP) connected wirelessly to a Huawei E5186 router using WDS. The user initially configured the E5186 with a specific IP range and disabled DHCP on the C7, but encountered issues when disconnecting the Ethernet cable between the two routers, resulting in loss of internet connectivity. Responses indicated that WDS would not function between these devices without alternative firmware, such as Gargoyle or OpenWRT, and emphasized the need for a strong signal for successful wireless bridging. The user later clarified that they mistakenly referred to the Archer C7 when they actually had an Archer D5, which lacks alternative firmware options, limiting its configuration to wired connections only. Ultimately, the user resolved their issue with assistance from the forum.
