    Welcome,

I am at the stage of design, welding of gates and posts for the installation of double-leaf gate 2x200.
I will also mount the Faac 414 drive
I would like to plan the location of the drive attachment and the hinges on the posts at this stage
I will have 100x100 posts, the span will be from the 40x40 profile
I found in the instruction that the installation dimensions A and B are to be the same (the distance of the post axis to the mounting point of the drive and the hinge axis is to be the same), 195x195 is recommended ... only that with a 100x100 bar it is impossible to keep such quantities.
Will moving the post axis as shown in the drawing work properly?
How else to solve the assembly on a narrow post?

    Thank you for your help
    greetings
    Tomek

From your drawing it follows that moving the axis will not help ...
165 x 165 can also be. In addition, these are dimensions recommended by the manufacturer and small deviations can also be. That is, one dimension can be eg 150 and the other 180, but you have to reckon with the fact that the work of the actuators will not be smooth. Either way, 414 do not fit the posts a bit.
Probably there will be some answers that others assembled while maintaining the dimensions 100 x 150 and works, but firstly will jump the wings when opening or closing what weakens the design and accelerates the wear of the actuator elements, and secondly, the actuators will work only at a fraction of the total screw pitch, i.e. instead of 39cm with dimensions 195x195 it will be 25 cm at 100 x 150.
It is better to choose other actuators ...

Which drive in this case is preferred for such assembly? ....

Thank you for your help .... ;)

At the beginning of the department there is information about: Unusual solutions and the link in it:

    Please read ...
If, however, there is no wicket next to the gate, you can attach the actuators to the amplifier with the following:
Faac 414 - assembly, installation dimensions on a narrow post

You get then 120-130mm x 130-140, and then "normal" actuators with a pitch of 300 or less mm will give advice eg Bill 30, Nice Wingo, Faac 418 and many more ...

Unfortunately - there is a wicket - on the other hand there is a lateral fence wall bordering the post ... it is also quite narrow ...
.... in addition - the spans of the gates will be built with wooden rails - the drive should give advice with wind resistance ..

Firstly, 300 mm actuators are enough. If there is a wicket, move the fastener on the post as close as possible to the gate, but so that it stays with 1 cm clearance when opening it in each of the actuator positions.
I did not do it once (with the consent of the owner and with an entry at an angle to the gate), so that the gate did not open when the wing was open. Because what for and how to enter the gate.
The dimensions do not have to be perfect with the instructions, but close to the square and at the 2 m wing there will be no problems. It is also important to attach the cylinder head to the sash as closely as possible.
The longer actuator is not a disadvantage in this case, because on the closed gate, say, 1/3 of the extension length in the tube, which increases the stiffness of the actuator, e.g. for wind pressure in the closed position.

I found the Beninca Bill 40 drive which according to the instructions should handle such assembly ...
... has a long frame - fastening to a span over a length of 95 cm - also should be stable support for wind gusts

What opinions do you have about this drive?

Very good cylinder, a much higher work culture and has a lock for unlocking, and not for ampul as in the façade. Other similar in this class is the proteco leader.

And if the bars 100 out of 100 gave in diamonds?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the installation of the Faac 414 drive for a double-leaf gate on narrow 100x100 posts. The user seeks guidance on the correct positioning of the drive and hinges, noting that the recommended installation dimensions (195x195) are not feasible with the chosen post size. Responses indicate that while slight deviations from the manufacturer's specifications may be possible, they could lead to operational issues such as uneven actuator movement and increased wear. Alternatives to the Faac 414, such as the Beninca Bill 30, Nice Wingo, and Faac 418, are suggested for better compatibility. The user also considers the Beninca Bill 40 drive, which is noted for its stability and performance under wind pressure. The importance of maintaining proper clearance and actuator positioning is emphasized to ensure smooth operation.
