    Hello,

colleagues, I have a problem in MAN TGA 18.430.
After replacing the filters: fuel and separator, the car starts hard. Initially, it was impossible to inflate it with a hand pump - it was soft all the time. We flooded the filter with oil and the car fired. The next morning, it did not want to fire, it was pumped several times with a hand pump, it was possible to fire. Immediately after switching off, the car starts again, it is enough for a moment to stay off and it does not want to fire again, how would the fuel escape? is the system so air-tight?

I am asking for some hints.

Since problems started after replacing the fuel filter, it is probably clear where to look for the cause ...
Original filters, some brand or Biedronka ??
All O-rings replaced ?? Square separator gasket too ??

    Hello
    1. Check the filter's venting (a tiny hole at the top of the filter support)
    2. "Spider" with a check valve to be replaced.

Hello, have you found the cause of the mana failure? Something similar happened to me and combing with it for a few days I can't get to the fault ... if so, could you tell me what was the cause?
I do not know whether to change filters or valves again and there are several of them ...
Please answer, thank you and best regards.

Hi, if you can check the fuel pressure in front of the filter, it should be around 5.6 bar or a little higher, if it is below it may fire worse and the EDC error will burn. If the fault is only the replacement error, I would first turn the square seal on the separator, press the vent on the separator cover, unscrew the main filter and check the O-ring for damage.

    right
Besides, the common rail bleeds for a long time suggests a semi-trailer with a load and a passage along the bypass.

Thank you, a long battle and the trailer and several tens of kilometers helped ...

in my case, the problem also solved itself. The car started hard for over a week, only after driving a few hundred kilometers everything returned to normal.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around starting issues with a MAN TGA 18.430 truck after replacing the fuel and separator filters. The user reports difficulty in priming the fuel system, with the hand pump remaining soft and the vehicle only starting after flooding the filter with oil. Subsequent attempts to start the vehicle after it has been turned off are met with failure, suggesting potential air leaks in the fuel system. Responses from other users suggest checking the venting of the filter, ensuring all O-rings and gaskets are replaced, and verifying fuel pressure before the filter. One user noted that their similar issue resolved after driving several hundred kilometers, indicating that the problem may self-correct over time.
