    Hello. For some time now my T4 has been eating up oil in significant amounts, and recently the coolant. I think that it is not worth doing anything here, just looking for a replacement engine, so I am writing to you asking which car the engine will fit it without any problems. Currently it is a 1.9d engine, but I was thinking about 1.9td and here my second question is whether such a conversion to a TD is a lot of work or not. I am waiting for your opinions.

    The conversion is not a lot of work, the difference is generally only in the accessories - different manifolds, exhaust and injection pump. To translate a passenger car (Golfy 3, Passat) you would have to look at the cushion mounts. And the oil pan to be moved.

    You can put the golf 3 ahu or 1z only you need to have the engine from t 4 for parts because it differs in the dragon with the oil pan paw mounting, and in place of the tdi pump you put the pump from the t4. I have all the parts for such a modification info on pw or call

    TD for my needs is a luxury driving around the chimney, occasionally up to 50 km. So I practically have to change the hardware. And what about the electrics, are there any differences in the 1.9 da TD need to be changed?

    The head must be vented, holes for the paw on the timing side have to be drilled and tapped, and a hole for the oil gauge must be drilled.
