    Hello,
from time to time I weld aluminum at work TIG AC, I think I do it quite well, but of course there are problems as it happens with less experienced welders.
I have a question about the electrode, I use gold 2.4 but I do not know if it grinds well.
    - I don't really know if it should be more pointed or wide, of course the tempo.
    - In addition, how often do you sand the electrode?
    - Is sharpening safe when it comes to health? Because I read that electrodes with the addition of thorium (red) are harmful, how does it relate to gold?
    And last:
    - is the electrode dirty natural, does it clean or does it matter?

I will be grateful for every hint and tip

    below adds photos.

aluminum electrodes are not to be sharp, only slightly blunt at the end. The red and gold electrodes (I think also) are used to weld stainless steel and black steel to the green one. The purple electrode is a universal electrode suitable for any material. From what I remember, the gray electrode is definitely devoid of radium.
You sand the electrode as often as you often get at the end of the ball. Generally, a directive came out that you must not sharpen the needles on table grinders only on multi-grinders designed for this cost around PLN 1200 and with the remaining dust I do not know what to do. You are worried about the light content of radium and you are still welding with a normal helmet without ventilation and the resulting gas is also poisonous :) . What to dirty the electrode I will not answer because I do not know
