Will anyone tell me what the diameter of the pulley should be on the hammer mill
On the engine I have 17mm belts with a pulley diameter of 24cm on a grinding mill I put on 17mm belts with a diameter of 10cm
I think the speed on the grinding mill is too high for my ear because it almost fell apart
    Please reply to meila auto001(_at_)o2.pl

Such "Bąk" type grinders had motors mounted in a "rigid" vertical position. So the turnover was 1400 / min.

Rather not, the rotation in such a grinding mill (Bąk type) was about 3 x 1400 rpm. They were driven mostly by 5.5 KW motors and the motor had a pulley about three times as large as the pulley on the axis of the grinding rotor. The wheel had three V-belts, it looked something like this:

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around determining the appropriate pulley diameter for a hammer mill, specifically one equipped with 17mm belts, a 24cm engine pulley, and a 10cm grinding mill pulley. Concerns were raised about the high speed of the grinding mill, which may lead to operational issues. Participants noted that the engine's power is likely around 7kW, and the typical rotation speed for similar machines is approximately 1400 RPM. It was suggested that the grinding mill's pulley should be larger than the engine's to reduce speed, with references to the "Bąk" type grinders and their configurations.
