I have a problem with the Solo 582 mower, which drives the B&S 55 engine. I have been using the mower for 10 years without fail. When the engine warms up, it is difficult to ignite it later. I read on the internet that the reason for this may be too little or no valve clearance. After unscrewing the cover from the valves, only the tappets and valves with springs are visible. There is no regulation there. Maybe someone will tell me if the valves are set on the mower or not?

Not set in this type of engine I understand. So there can be hydraulic clearance clearance here?

angle, cutting stone, small diameter. Sew the valve stem on and it's ready. You have slack without much work, the more that the engine is already worn out.

Who told you that? I don't know, I don't say stupidity, that's a good theory. Adjustable by grinding the valve stem.

That's right, a small flat diamond file is used for this.
