    Hello.

The car is Opel Corsa C 1.2 (Z12XE engine), 2004, mileage 242,000 kilometers.
I'm trying to exchange the timing. (Chain).

I am wondering whether to change gears? People write differently, I looked at the camshaft sprockets, there is not any significant wear. However, I was not able to see the crankshaft sprockets. (I did not dismantle the entire timing cover).
What do you think about it?

Which company is worth buying the timing? What do you recommend?
I was wondering about SKF, SWAG or RUVILLE.
I have an easily accessible full set from SKF but different opinions about it are circulating.

I am asking for advice. Thank you.

You can not see any wear on the chain, and looseness comes from somewhere. I usually install the cheapest quinole complete with allegro, because the cost of branded cars sometimes exceeds the value of these cars.

After the chain you can see wear, even broke off a piece of the upper slide. So you advise to replace the gears? Cars drive without any problem on such non-company kits? Do not return after 10-20 thousand kilometers with the same fault?
For not 300 zlotys I found a full BGA set. I found SKF for PLN 345.
In total, the abrasion on each of the 1mm wheels will make loose on the chain, so it may be worth replacing at the expense of a worse set.

The SWAG or RUVILLE sets were also found at good prices but without gears.

As I change it only with wheels. It is these BGAs, the set have so chosen that it suits and older and newer 1.0 and 1.2. I do not know how many runs it can withstand, but one postman rides for 2 years, so certainly a lot more than 20,000 has been broken.

Today, after a whole day of work, I changed the chain set, it can be done without special locks. (In the iron store I just kicked a 5mm flat bar with a width of 5cm from which I made a lock-up fight.
In the car was still the original timing set (mileage on the meter 242 thousand, probably more realy), the chain was so stretched that it moved one tooth against the tooth.
After setting up a new silence ...
I bought the SKF set, I did not exchange the gear with the roller position disc, generally there was no wear on the upper wheels, the bottom, slides were worn, the tensioner had a broken spring inside, there were marks on the block after the chain strokes.
The cleaning of the gasket area (valve cover, bowl, timing cover, thermostat) took up the most work.
I have not unscrewed the water pumps, it can be done so as to unscrew only the screws that pass through the housing and hold it to the block.
