Hello, I installed TRV shields and beats and the opinion of the wholesaler is that it is not known whether to laugh or cry :) Do you have similar experiences ??

    Complaint code: 13RE009905
The part was purchased on: 25/04/2016

    Complained on: March 30, 2017
Mileage after installing the parts: 24100km
Claim reason: It strikes when braking.
The advertised part was inspected and found:
    1. Abrasive wear over 0.3mm.
    Conclusion
The supplied brake discs show visible wear of the friction surface
over 0.3mm. After a mileage of more than approx. 2000 km, the dials lose their parameters
during the production process in favor of the parameters acquired during operation, "runout
discs "is caused by operational factors, which is beyond the manufacturer's control.
Discs burdened with a manufacturing defect would show "beating" during test drive or after
examining the sensor. The fact that no irregularities were found during the test drive
confirms that the purchased discs were not burdened with the defect of uneven thickness on
    the circumference of the shields.
    The complaint cannot be accepted

I would also dismiss the claim in this case.

I also don't understand the author's frustration. Discs possibly overheated. The author does not mention the condition of e.g. brake pads, pistons, and we do not know what style of driving he prefers ...?

Honestly, I do not know how they were operated because I only mounted it and as far as I know, the client's wife drives it, so rather calmly, 3/4 nice pads without any signs of overheating, the clamps work flawlessly under the dust covers, clean. From another wholesaler they say that the trv went on quality and they have a lot of complaints.

Most hubs beat in such cases. I know a case where the hubs were ok and the discs started to beat after a short time, the complaint was accepted (BMW service).

unfortunately I have no way of checking. The hubs have been cleaned again and the texstar kit fitted, time will tell.

I do not fully understand, you advertise shields after a year of operation and mileage of 24kkm?

This is the current mileage and some 10,000 are made on them.

Teeth in plaster. The wholesaler is right - the "runout" was acquired as a result of exploitation, which is not covered by the warranty.

This is all the more so when after 10 thousand worn 0.3mm, they had to be well angulated.

Why were the brake discs replaced at 14,000 km?

Perhaps there was a curb and there will be a repeat of the entertainment next year. You've got into it.

I suggest a dial gauge and check the hub runout before mounting the discs.

The 0.01 sensor for this magnetic stand and you will quickly check if the problem of the curvature of the discs is not caused by the hub itself.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around complaints regarding TRV brake discs installed on a Golf IV, specifically concerning wear exceeding 0.3mm and a "beating" sensation when braking. The original poster reported that after 24,100 km, the discs showed significant wear, leading to a claim against the wholesaler. Responses from other users suggest that the wear may be due to operational factors rather than manufacturing defects, with some questioning the condition of other components like brake pads and hubs. There are suggestions to check the hub runout and the possibility of overheating as contributing factors. Overall, the consensus leans towards the idea that the wear is a result of normal use rather than a defect in the brake discs themselves.
