Hello and happy Easter to everyone.
However, I have a problem with the fridge, the freezer has stopped freezing. The temperature in the refrigerator is correct and in the freezer only -3.5 instead of -18.
Has anyone ever encountered such a problem? Where can the cause lie? The service can be called only after Christmas, and the frozen food begins to defrost.
    Please help.

Such one question is a fridge-freezer with one unit or two, separate fridge and separate freezer unit?
And second: what is the temperature in the room where the device stands?

    One aggregate.
The fridge is in the kitchen, but it does not matter, it stands for 5 years, yesterday morning it was freezing properly, and in the evening the wife noticed that it did not turn off and is working all the time. As I checked, it turned out that the frozen foods softened. I put the thermometer on all night, it was only -3.5 in the morning.

It does matter, but if it's in your kitchen, it doesn't matter. Because sometimes I met that the fridge was standing in the corridor or in the garage and the room temperature there was the same or lower than the one set in the refrigerator compartment, and in this case the aggregate did not turn on because the thermostat did not allow it and in the freezer the temperature increased if the aggregate did not work, because he had no reason to work because there was no need to "cool" the refrigerator compartment.

Partially the problem is solved, in the back at the very bottom next to the aggregate is a cooler with a fan, and under it a tank for defrost water. Moisture, dust and ubiquitous dog fur created thermal insulation on the radiator. Orderly cleaning helped, but not entirely. It started to freeze, but only to -10 ° C when set to -18 ° C. In addition, pollution would not cause such a defect in one day. Something must be wrong. And the Easter miracle happened :)
On Sunday morning I checked the temperature in the freezer and it was -18 ° C as set on the control panel :) I am still controlling the temperature and it looks like everything is ok.

    Hello.
I return to the topic, because decent cleaning only helped for 3 months. I have a problem with the freezer again. Of course, I started by cleaning the radiator, but it was not as dirty as before. It seems to me that this could be some other problem.
Does anyone have any idea? I will add that no damage can be seen.

I called an authorized service center. After unscrewing the back wall both at the back of the fridge and inside the freezer, a service technician found that gas was most likely leaked. To replace the entire "radiator" inside the freezer.
While searching for a leak, the generator started, because the side of the refrigerator was still working, and then he noticed a slightly changed sound of engine operation. It gave food for thought. He measured something with a multimeter at the aggregate, of course, so that I could not see anything, and then opened the lid on the "roof" of the refrigerator, where all the control electronics are located (photo 1), like an on-board computer. Here he made a few more measurements, and it turned out that the capacitor needs to be replaced (photo 2).
After this treatment, the fridge whisks like new. :-)

    greetings

I have a similar problem and an identical capacitor. Has a specialist created an identical or any replacement? I searched for it on the internet and did not find it. Or maybe someone can suggest what to replace it ...?

I bought the capacitor without waiting for an answer. I can proudly use my fridge again. In fact, the capacitor was whacked. Fachman in the store chose a similar one for me. I installed, cleaned everything from behind and dust :)
Fachman, who was diagnosed with me, said that the motherboard and asked if ordering. Such a CD costs a few hundred. Somehow I didn't believe him because he came with pliers, a screwdriver and a hammer. I found the company on the net and they have a maximum rating from customers - how it goes stuffing. Maybe this guy was special ;) Anyway, it's good that I came across this post because I estimated that it could be the fault of this capacitor, but this post motivated me more to try and ... Bingo.

The fitter had with him similar parameters and the same dimensions, but went to the service after the one as in the picture.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around an LG GS5163PVMV fridge freezer experiencing a malfunction where the freezer fails to reach the set temperature of -18°C, instead only achieving -3.5°C. Initial troubleshooting included checking the unit's placement and cleaning the condenser, which temporarily improved the situation. However, the problem recurred after a few months. A service technician diagnosed a gas leak and a faulty capacitor, which required replacement. After these repairs, the fridge resumed normal operation. Users shared their experiences with similar issues, emphasizing the importance of cleaning and potential component failures.
